Saving as Max 2014 file?

Excuse me for creating a thread for this short question, but:

Let´s say somebody wants specifically a Max 2014 file. Is it possible to save it "as 2014" in later versions?
I´d appreciate some insight : )

Yes. Press save as, and youll have an option to choose which version you want.

A few caveats though...

Max will only let you save a couple versions downward. So 2018 for example only saves down to 2017 or 2016.

If your current version has a feature unsupported by a lower one, they'll get an error. We had this recently with the ColorMap node from 2017 that was saved as 2016, but that feature was added in version 2017; 2016 doesn't have ColorMap yet.

Well, company I am working at has got a request and it says specifically 2014. My company doesn´t have Max at all and would get a license (for a month or something, Dunno). So... will that work at all?

Check if your license includes a seat of 2016, which iirc can save to 2014.
