3dsmax/gmax is actually an easier program, and it's MUCH more powerful. 3dsmax can render, but it costs a helluva lot. Gmax can't, but it's free http://discreet.com i think.
This is WIP in 3dsmax i want to do unwrap and then texture it in 3dsmax. Well i never done good textures i suck in art but there is always room to learn
Takes 2 seconds on google :) Thing is, mayas default is called angle and area weighted. I think it is not the same. It lowers the amount of low poly shading vs for instance 3dsmax but i think face weighted is still different and "better" when used on the right models
Modeled in 3DsMax, baked using highpoly to lowpoly in substance, shaded in Substance Painter, and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 3. Please let me know what you think. Artstation: artstation.com/tylerschutte
Is it possible to display normals in the viewport in 3dsmax, when using multi-tile? I'm only able to make the first texture showing, so I'm probably doing it wrong. Any ideas? Thanks!

Can you set the new Nitrous Selection Preview Highlights (3dsmax 2016) in Maxscript? Preferences Settings -> Viewports -> Selection/Preview Highlights (Checkboxes) I can't find the interface to these settings.
