Huh... so adding more geo then removing the edge loops... I'll give that a try... see if it helps. I read some of that threat but not all of it... I'll give it a look-see and see how it helps. Bakers do magic it seems, any other advice would be awesome.
Hi all, I m new user of Substance Painter, and I've an issuie : When I bake Normal / id /Curvature / World space, it's ok, I bake in 20-30 minutes. But when I try to bake Thickness it's veryyyy long ( 6-7 hours !!!! ?? ) It's normal ? :open_mouth: Thanks
Hi all, So I am baking normal maps for the first time which is all going well, but I want to bake the displacement maps on my hi poly with the other hi poly information. Is there a way to either apply the displacement geometry to the models, or to include them in the normal bake?
I side with the baking approach. You can always paint on top of your bakes, but it gives you more control and structure to the process. Painting is too easy to get a strong divergence in style. Baking can be time consuming, but You can stray from the process at any point. For instance not every character needs a full blown…

Hi, I recently tried to bake a normalmap based on a "Highpoly" which is actually the same mesh but with Rounded Edge materials. I created the sample mesh with MOP Booleans by W. Vaughan (http://pushingpoints.com/v2/the-pushing-points-mop-booleans-kit-for-modo/). Instead of fixing all the Ngons with nice loops etc. to get a…
I've got a shirt model and I'm wondering what methods there are to get clean bakes on areas that overlap very closely such as where it buttons up down the middle and where the collar folds over the shoulders. Obviously the cage tends to intersect the wrong parts a lot in these areas. What I'm currently trying is cutting…
I'm a beginner artist currently trying to figure out baking normal textures to from my high to my low poly character model. After failing to figure this out on my own, I'm hoping there will be a wizz here who can fix my issue. The problem is that my normals simply aren't working properly after the bake, I can hardly notice…
hey everyone, I've got a pretty daunting task ahead of me. I'm trying to bake the diffuse map of on model onto another model. Both models are the same poly count, but one is uv mapped. (automatically uv mapped). I'm going thru Transfer maps and after I initiate the bake the diffuse map that comes out is incredibly white,…
Hi! Im pretty new to 3D (roghly half a year in zBrush) so I'm more or less used to sculpting and other zBrush processes, BUT I know literally nothing when it comes to laying out UV's, texturing and baking maps. For some reason, it became a huge problem for me, somehow I couldnt google enough information so i decided to do…
