Hey everybody. Some already have seen a screen of a project I made for school in the "Tech Artist - What are you working on: 2010 Edition!" I am making this thread to get some feedback and suggestions for getting a better script. Some info about the script/tool : I will start by posting the screen I already posted. This…
how would i go about requesting a 3dsmax modifier that i think could be fairly beneficial/time saving? i'm aware there are some tech artists here who could do it but i don't know any of you well enough (sorry) to ask personally. and i feel like if i post it on the autodesk forums it'll just be lost in the noise. what i…
I'm having problems resolving a problem when I use the "Symmetry" modifier on top of my editable poly. Basically I started in 3Ds max where I had later finished the model in Mudbox where I went to "Level 2". Afterwards I sent it back in to 3Ds Max and I added the Symmetry modifier but it would leave me with jagged lines…
Since FaceExtrude is basically unusable and I like parametric workflow, I decided to have some fun with streamlining the experience with the Edit Poly modifier. Hiding the complex UI means you won't accidentally commit the settings. The script files are available at scriptspot. Doing it this way also means that you can…
So for some reason every time I put a symmetry modifier on something, save, then reload my file, the symmetrical half of the model will have ... deleted itself? The whole half of my character that was being mirrored will just be gone, even though the modifier is still there. The bounding box too seems to say that the model…
When I'm using the Unwrap UVW modifier, I'd like to select by object element but you can only select by vertex, edge, face. I'm not talking about UV elements, but the elements on the object. Like how you can select by element on edit poly modifier. I can do this but it's a several step process: * Collapse Unwrap UVW modifier…
O.K. let me set this up for you. you have an object which is an editable poly. then you throw a Unwrao UVW modifier on top of it. Is there a way to access the edit poly verts\edges\faces with out having to go to the modifier stank and selecting the edit poly modifier. the reason i ask is because i have been using expert…
Probably a long shot but I'm really stuck on this. I'm working with the xgen interactive groom editor in Maya and trying to add collision to hair guides. By default they collide with the mesh they originate from but not other meshes in the scene. According to this Autodesk help page you can add collision modifiers to hair…
Does anyone know how to modify the button placement in Editable_poly and edit_poly? I imagine some ini or similar files need to be modified as I have never been able to figure out a way to do this from within max itself. Example:
I was watching Racer's AK tutorial and i noticed he had like a favorite modifier list above the modifier box. So he could quickly use the push modifier, unwrap etc etc. Could anyone tell me how to do that?
