Sick ass textures man.
A little nit pick though, I really don't like the transition of the horns into the belt. The horns I feel should be removed all together if a better transition cannot be found.
Besides that though, refreshing texturing style.Keep it up!
kk armour block-in done....using some of the techniques from mike jensens hard surface dvd and lotsa dynamesh...next up is re-topo of individual sections so that I can sculpt them up good and proper
Here is what I have been working on for a while now. After seeing the movie Despicable Me I thought it would be funny to make myself and a friend of mine. I am a toronto maple leafs fan and my friend is a Habs fan. When i do finally finish these a friend will animate then fighting. lol

onelunglewis: Holy shit, that came out of nowhere. Last I saw it was just a concept. Way to go, you rock jramauri: wicked nice style. very grainy and sharp but your highlights aren't too extreme and your materials seem well defined. keep it up! papagersi: I really love this character. I can't wait to see it finished. seth: That armor is insane! how'd you go about it?
Great work everyone. We're only into our third week of the year and we're almost at 30 pages.
For me and my coworkers competition. Modeling out my charmander redesign. Still debating on if he's going to be game resolution or a mental ray render.
@Dan! : I watched ur livestream it turned out nice. @jramauri : good painting stuff. it's like oil panting on it @rorozilla : It's Kog'Maw! in game, League of Legend
I'm still working on my first next gen stuff
proceses are complicated, actually I'm getting step by step and enjoying it tho
critiques are welcome
Slum (and anyone else interested) I'll post it up when I have it finished and if you want a hi-rez version for printing lemme know and I will hook you up
Seth- That char is looking really freaking awesome can't wait to see where it goes!
dannedadon- Really solid work and I like the posed render alot. Matches exactly the whole mass effect style.
Choco- That modular piece is sweet, I definitely preferred the stratified look.
Noticed some cut and paste here, the circular ship port things but there might be some other stuff as well. Are you kitbashing the sketch together some, or is that copy/paste an isolated incident? It seems like it would be pretty slick to have some greebles and brushes set aside in a sort of 'decal sheet' for this kind of stuff.
Ghostscape- Actually I just took the first image of the shipyard turned it on its side and repainted the whole thing with a similar shape language in mind just a different shot/idea. For environment work I do use alot of custom shapes though.
Sukotto- Actually I do work at vigil as a concept artist!
Biofrost- Alot of it is photobashing/textures/ and the chalk brush goes a looooooooooooong way. its fun to be a purist but sometimes its fun to just bang ideas out as fast as possible.
links to examples of this workflow, and the types of custom shapes you work with would be extremely awesome to share also maybe the thinking that goes into it from beginning to end. basically i just want to have your brain for an evening, good work !

Starting a Schoolism course in digital painting this month. I'm a complete noob at painting and haven't drawn for years. So getting some practice in.

Some recent speedpaints/sketches of mine:
Nice! was that handpainted?
Think I may have desaturated it a bit more than it should of been but I think it is coming together.

Only the highlights.
The base are CGtextures that I tuned to my needs. Mixed with the normal maps, it gives the feeling of being handpainted
Thanks!
