Maybe i just havent played it in a long time, but the art looks almost the exact same to me. a little more colour, which is welcomed. New units looks awesome though!
Definitely be pre-ordering this one very soon. the first one is actually one of the ONLY FPS games i like. and by like i mean OMGILOVEYOU
Sexy animation and art style, love that guy in the hood. Never played the original and it felt repetitive when watching a friend play it but I'll keep an eye on it.
I'm forced to abandon my typical Siren persona and start using the character named Zer0. Not because I have an affinity for swordsman who share that name at all....no...never....
Looks awesome! I like that they (at least I think so?) went even more for the cell shaded look.
Can't wait to play this, the first game was fantastic (despite
that lame end boss
)
I also don't like dubstep in trailers (I like dubstep, but it's overused), however the ending of the trailer made up for it and makes me think they did it cheek in tounge. Gotta love that little robots dance.
I really hope they give the PC community a bit better support this time around. The whole Gamespy multiplayer component rendered any multiplayer damn near useless. So, here's hoping I don't have to port forward to play a game on the PC in 2012!
Side note: I feel that dubstep is music's way of trolling us.
i'm not a fan of the music in this either....as far as something i'd listen to. but it fits SO well for this trailer...which has me ULTRA excited. and ya, i believe it's totally tongue in cheek. sad lilith's phasewalk will not be there....still rollin maya tho.
I'm not usually bothered about trailer music but compared to the Mass Effect 3 trailer this song sucks assssssssss *AVGN Voice*
No but the first game was quite cool when it came out but I personally felt it got very repetitive quickly and I was sad when the millions of guns were just clones with different stats. I was under the impression there'd be more unique guns with special abilities but there were only a few.
Still I'll be keeping my eye on this. Might wait till it's super cheap.
ya, the first games millions of guns were ALOT alike. Apparently its the same way in the second, but they have way more unique ones, and a wider variety of stats on them.
There's one manufacture where you cant actually reload them. they are meant to be really crappy guns, rusted and all that, where once you unload the clip, you drop it and pick up a new gun.
Im super excited about all the new gear.
but...
If they have another shitty ending with such a shiiiitttty boss, with shitty loot on the FINAL BOSS of a LOOT BASED GAME.... Im going to be pissed. I dont usually complain about bad endings, but the first one was so bad. Beat the boss, get shitty loot, then go back to the quest giver and get $100,000? I was already maxed out on cash! So disappointing

You're thinking of Tediore, they aren't beat up and rusted rather they're cheap mass produced guns; like disposable cameras.
"Tediore was founded on the principle that no family should be without the protection that an affordable, lightweight firearm provides"
i still have the first one but never really played it past about an hour. this one however seems like its going to be much better.. more so ill probably get it when it comes out instead of a year after the fact so i can have people to play co-op with.
slipsius: That's kind of the inherent flaw of having bazillions of guns. You have bazillions of worthless guns. I think the mass amounts of loot is actually a bad design choice overall. In D2, high-level players usually use Runewords, not rare items. Then you have all the garbage, low-level set and unique items that have such a low drop rate that you'll never find them for your level due to the fact you can level from 1-30 in about 2 days with proper play (no rushing).
Goes to show that properly designed itemization is FAR more useful than randomized stats.
^ You can't argue with that. I found HellGate: London to work reasonably well in that regard despite it's myriad flaws; you could upgrade low level items fairly indefinitely, which meant that they weren't strictly junk. It still suffered from the usual junk loot issue however.
I really liked the mix of perks their bazillion guns have, It isn't like Diablo where the only think that matters is the stats, some shot guns feel totaly different that other shotguns, one could be the sniper of guns that allows you to zoom in and blast a group of baddies 150ft away, another could be a rapid fire only good for people 10 ft of way but shoots so fast you could easly clean up a hallway, thats what makes the bazillion fun.
There is a big difference compared to Diablo even tho the weapons are randomized because a good find in Borderlands is actually experienced in a realistic way rather than just resulting in easier kills generally. The weapon isn't enjoyably because it's an easier powerful kill. They are enjoyable because you "experience" the accelerated spray from an smg with exceptional rate of fire. And increased telescopic zoom results in more deaths because you are enabled not just because increased sites == better chance to hit written into the game loop combat system. That immediacy and direct tactile result right down the line of goodies like increased ammo size, wallop or conversely a horrible kick affecting an otherwise powerful gun badly or rate of fire eating through a weapon with small ammo size is a direct result of your good and bad choices. Unlike Hack and slash the weapon were experienced in a very satisfying way.
That such an enjoyable experiece could be immersive in that way and randomized to a possibly unique experience is pretty amazing I think. But then again maybe I am jes easy to please. I wasted a good portion of my life in Diablo ( I have lost weapons in Borderlands from crashing that I have not manage to match in thousands of desperate loot searches. Very maddening )
Oh man I wish I could find my disc for Borderlands, I should of bought it on steam, been craving to play it recently with all this news of borderlands 2.
Yeah, when they worked on the first one, the impression you got about the game was that you could make your own guns from parts, so you could put sniper scope on your rocket launcher and so on, so you could make your own combination. Instead it was a guns with random properties, which was a bit disappointing. I love the whole crafting your own guns, instead of the diablo random loot thing.

I'm still looking forwards to the game however.

Dubstep in trailers needs to die though.
"Not appropriate for children" - proceeds to play music that only children enjoy.
Once I found the mute button I got very excited. Loved the first game. Can't wait to co-op through this.
Very excited, have been since I heard they were making a sequel.

It's live action - much like the mysterious woman giving you instructions in the first one: http://www.co-optimus.com/article/7539/borderlands-2-live-action-lilith-revealed-new-footage-too.html
thinking about picking it up, but the goty edition is 30$ still
