Polycount's Sketch Thread!

STRIKER

We'll start by just drawing a piece everyday, and it can be digital or traditional. Then we'll start to work in some sweet themes to challenge ourselfs! ex. robots, chicks etc.

• 1 embed maximum (1 image, or 1 video, or 1 gif, etc.)
• Anim GIFs must be less than 2 mb
• Externally-hosted images must be less than 500 kb
• Uploaded images must not exceed 1000 pixels in any dimension
  
• Don't upload PNG, use JPG
  
• Breaking these rules may cause merciless editing by a Moderator

Only using the lasso and fill tool. I talked to Makkon about it a few minutes ago and decided to try it out again. I encourage everyone to try it out, it's a really fun and simple exercise only using limited tools.

Hey Allan-P love your work see it all over the place in the tag thread. What kind of methods or techniques do you use to get that shiny polished airbrush look?

I did a quick tutorial.

Main things to remember is to reference your light source and use true white and black cautiously as too much sugar can be a bad thing.

For softer edges I smudge both sides and to define harder edges I smudge one side of the stroke.

And lastly have fun!

Allan-p, the way you painted the chunky knight's armour surface looks cool, the shapes appear tangible.

A lot of nice stuff in here, I think I'll join the sketch ride! A couple of quick environmental sketches I did today, playing with ambiance.
