I'll finally be going for my first time this year! Going to be going for "New World Interactive"
Anyone wanna meet up? Jason Lavoie? (send me some pm's if you guys do, i'd love to meet up and have some fun!)
Sucks that Kazan isn't coming this year Matt It was good bumping into you last year though, I don't know if you plan on going to the polycount meetup (one on Tuesday and one on Thursday, think I may go to the Thursday one) but we can meet up somewhere, maybe for lunch or something! Tasty food in SF!
For sure man! yeah its a bummer about Kazan :P Yeah i'd love to go to the polycount meetup and put names to faces and meet everybody and yes, Good food a MUST!
Because the IGDA party was moved to a new venue, it may be worth noting that if you're going to try going to both the Polycount meetup on Tuesday and the party, it'd be best to take a cab.
I'll be going to both. I'm planning on sticking around the meetup for an hour or so, then heading over to the IGDA party around 7:00pm. That's a full three hours left in the party.
Sean VanGorder and I are looking at doing a last minute decision trip to the GDC and we are wondering if anyone has any spare rooms/beds/floor/bathtub that would be close enough to the Moscone that we could invade (I'm sure we can work out some kind of financial compensation).
Wanted to bump this, and also mention that chris, Swizzle, me and several others have the skype group going, so if you want to join. PM any of them, or add my skype:

So someone should tell Lefty's about the amount of people who might show up, also for those of you who this is your first GDC. Take your badges off when you leave the buildings. Don't let the general public know you are a tourist.
Gonna be there Wed-Fri. Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting some new ones. It sounds like the meetup this year is Lefty's again. Think that place worked pretty well the last years.
Oh man I saw this thread way too late. I'm totally coming for the PC meetup and I was planning on heading over to the IGDA party as well. I still need to cobble my portfolio together though.
And hey Swiz, I'd love to grab some sushi or drinks with S2 people. Big fan of HoN so it'd be fun to meet some of the people who make it. Would it be possible to meet up before the PC party?
I'm going to try to get to Lefty's a bit early tomorrow and on Thursday so I can snag a table. I'll put my iPad with Greentooth displayed on it sitting on whatever table I happen to get so you guys know where to go. I should be there with one of my coworkers and a few other guys, so don't hesitate to come up to us and say hi.

Most of the guys from S2 are going on separate days, depending on where they live and what specifically they do, so I'm not sure how feasible a lunch would be. I have to meet a few other people for lunch and other stuff, so I think the best time to get together when I'm not busy would be at one of the PC meetups.
Just got out of the IGDA party. Shit was bonkers. Tons of people there, lots of talking and networking going on everywhere.
Polycount meetup number one seemed to be a success. By my count, there were a total of 42 PCers there. It was great to meet a lot of people there in person. Can't wait for the Thursday meetup!
Im with Fish on this one.... I hate most japanese games. They all seem to be stuck in the past. They need something new and excited to spruce it up. Yes, their older games paved the wave for a lot of modern western games. But that doesn't give them a free pass that all their new games are deemed "good".
Seeing as he was a panelist, he could have been a little more professional, but ah well.
I didn't get any pictures, but I'm sure there's something floating around on a cell phone out there. I'm going to bring my camera to the Thursday meetup, though.

I don't think it's what he said as such, more the way he just blurted it out.
Looks like I got plans Thursday night! Is there a set time for Lefty? IGDA was packed and crazy last night. Tonight is kicking it with some Konami/Kojima peps!

Sounds like he just shot his mouth off without thinking about the potential repercussions. Were any of you at this panel?
I notice his twitter account has now been made private after he did some more mouthing off against the Japanese industry and some detractors.

I hate Japanese games too. Ever since they started trying to be Western games.
EDIT: Also, maybe he should try finishing his game instead of running his fucking mouth off.

I read this thinking he was mocking Inafune or something.
