Heading back to Larkspur on the ferry after my mod team had our interview with Valve. It was quite nice for my first GDC even though I only had an expo pass.
At the second meetup right now and the headcount is 50+. We've had people from Blizzard and Epic stop by, Ryan was showing his book off again and it's just generally a great time. If there are any PCers reading this who are in the area, feel free to stop by and say hi.
I got a few pictures on my phone and I'll post them up later.
If you have a keen eye and you know what they look like, you can make out several well-known Polycounters. At various points during the night there were also folks from Blizzard and Epic. The Crunch Cast guys made an appearance again and we stayed and had a great time until closing.
Many people came pretty late or left early, so an accurate head count is pretty much impossible, but I believe it was approximately 60 attendees.
It was awesome meeting PC people! I wish I got around to talk to more people though. I have a really hard time approaching anybody who is in a tight group already deep in conversation. So I probably talked to like 30% of the people . Shrug.
It was pretty fun last night ! Met like 15 different people, would have met more but I wasn't feeling well earlier in the evening and came in later. Still no Turbo this year, unfortunately .
it was awesome meeting everyone last night and Tuesday! I'm pretty sure I met more awesome ppl at these than anywhere else. I had a blast, I have the feeling the waiter didn't have as much fun as we did

Where was Parnell!?!? :P
I had something come up that i had to do. The good news is that it left me totally wasted for the night, and the bad news is it totally left me wasted for the night. LOL
However, I'm still in SF for another night if you want to meet up.
Sorry guys!!
Great meet ups. It was super fun to wine, dine, and chat you all up, but now it's time for us to head back to the art battle. Hope everyone has a safe trip home.
If you get a chance stop by the Autodesk booth and give Hyperspace Madness a shot. A few Polycounters and myself had a part in this project.
Got to play star wars kinect, they didn't seem to Have the dancing mode available. I was so ready to start the leia dance in the middle of the career pavilion
The PC meetups were by far one of the most awesome nights of mah life. It was great meeting everyone, and I sincerely look forward to the next one. Hopefully next year I wont have to spend nearly as much time in the career pavillion...
Looking good, but turn down the bloom! I'm not a good person for anatomy crits, but hopefully someone can give you a paintover - there's a lot of really freaky uncanny valley here.
Looking forward to more. What's this rendered in, cryengine?
Thanks so much for putting the meetup together, I ended up blowing off so many generic parties Tues and Thurs to spend more time talking shop, looking at art, and swapping insane stories with PCers.
The meet up was a highlight for sure at this year's GDC, it was great to meet with everyone and realize that there is actually people at the other end of these tubes.

Haha sorry man I was just having fun. Not trying to troll or nothin'.
Damn I didn't see this until now. All good. Next year!
The gathering was fun! Lefty O'Douls is awesome. The food part is the best. It kept me from having to take off somewhere for awhile cause I was starving when I showed up. I wouldn't mind having it there annually. At first it was kinda jammed but then people starting to leave and we just took it all over .
I need to find a way to talk to people and break ice better and more often.
Great meeting everyone there. I did snap a few photos. I am at work at the moment, but when I can I will post them. Everyone should start posting a pic of their face as well at their real name on here. I have a ton of business cards, but placing faces with names and screennames can be a challenge, especially when you have had a few drinks :P I will post some pics later. Btw my screenname is my real name. You can also find me on linkedin http://www.linkedin.com/in/michaeldunnam. I have added a few that I found already on there. Peace for now.

Was anyone else disappointed that Kevin Johnstone's environment talk was cancelled? I was really looking forward to that.
Kind of wondering what happened there.
Kevin struggles with quite a serious illness from what I've read in an interview he did before, but hopefully it was just commitments to showing Unreal 4 awesomeness to drooling developers.

Oh man, really? I hope he's doing fine then, whatever the problem was.

Iam glad I met as many of you as I could thoughout the week! Wish I could have stayed on thursday night as well!
Thanks everyone for two great meetings. I didn't get to talk to everyone at these meetups but it was great to finally meet some of you polycounters. Here are some pictures I took at the meetup;
These were all taken on the Thursday meeting as I forgot to take pictures on Tuesday. Thanks again for the great time, guys!

High point was getting drunk with the makers of Limbo and of course the Polycount meetups.
Made lots of new friends since being at GDC and yeah it was a cool experience overall for my first time!
Just thought you'd want to be informed.
Looking forward to more. What's this rendered in, cryengine?
Really nice putting names with faces. I learned Swizzle is not British (totally thought he was for some reason).
Had a blast talking and meeting everyone. Really impressive turn out.
Thanks again Swizzle (non-British citizen) for spearheading all this on your own accord.
