I tried to make sergeant Barnes from the platoon for 3D printing
TheDarkKnight - looks like Eminem with some Kevin Spacey
Download as many photos of Eminem as you can and then try to rotate the head as it is on the photo and compare it to the image. Repeat this with all photos you have. It works fine for me
This is my first character design project that I am undergoing for my Associates degree Thesis project.....Tell me how it is!! Critiques please..:poly136:
Hey I have a question well 2 actualy and I hoping someone can answer quick .I am looking for a way to do fur and feathers so that it can be rendered with vray in maya ,Any suggestions.I am talking with standard vray ,with no converion to polygon or compositing .

Looking fine for now, but i definitely have a problem with the arms. I can feel any of the muscles, and it lacks the junction between the arme and the forearm.
Also, be wary of the gap between the thighs. I know what you wanted to do, but usually the thigh are roundish and touches eachother just before the gap. In yours, we can see an awkward place where they just get inside, and then out to form the vagina.
Other than that, maybe a lil' more hips would be fine, just my 2cent
I agree with Scythe, the other thing is the shoulders aren't formed well it appears as one long noodle from finger tip to finger tip. Personally I would go back and address the basic structure of the character, I'm seeing a lot of smoothed out unsure of forms in her right now. Not sure your plans but modeling in a more relaxed position gives you a better deformation in the shoulder area when you eventually bring the arms down.
Everyone has to make his own goblin. My first character made completely inside of ZBrush, started from a sphere, made a head and extruded rest of the character. Dynamesh FTW! I'm not a character artist, just wanted to make something different than usual.
Been putting in way less time than I'd like over the past couple days on a big, mean warhammer. I grabbed all this great reference for Darksiders but never came up with anything super-stylized that I wanted to do.
Main shape reference. Love the silhouette of the head, but the textures and style of the handle are pretty bland, so I'm going to be figuring out something new for them when I don't have distractions like work or a decent sized group of people who want to play Twilight Imperium.
Early progress. Pretty much everyone I showed it to suggested scaling up the head, and thus...
Maybe two hours spread out over three days so far. It's been a week of distractions...
Trying my luck with a Roman General Cuirass. Not very happy with the shoulder flappy things. Tried to arrange it but it's getting late. Any ideas how I'll add the muscle detail on the breast plate? Sculpting is an option but when I use Sculptris it makes everything look horrible. I could model the detail as an alternative.
@Free_Fall: incredible textures!! shading looks supercool @Rogue One:I'm digging the bottom ones... their design is great, expecially the first from the right!
SaferDan, I like it man. you've definitely got that look of modern transplanted onto old. got any plans for the brick building? some decals/vertex blended grime could look sweet.
Some progress on my zBrush ecorche. That spine was a serious pain in the ass. And yeah the proportions are all sorts of wonky, but it's really hard to fix in the zSphere stage so I will have to do those corrections once I have converted them to mesh.
Hey thanks Benji! Yeah I plan to vertex paint that badboy up! The brick isnt actually textured yet I was just messing with colours to try and it not repeat as little as I can with vertex paint before I used it!
New here so testing the waters... and thought I would post this piece of concept. I have the mesh finished and am in the process of unwrapping to start painting the texture. It's the first time I've attempted all of these things, making a sword, making full concept, and painting a texture lol so here's to jumping into the deep end, lol.
@saferdan: Looks great, I love how much variety you can get due to how ambiguous the concept is. Only minor crit so far is the doors look really fat and wide
Here is the logo I made for my capstone project team at school:
And here is a dopey desktop wallpaper I made for one of my team-mates:
On a side note...
YEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! I was lucky enough to get a summer internship at Blizzard! This is such a tremendous opportunity. I'm so amped, when I found out yesterday I was smiling like a fool for hours. Still am!
Hadn't visited this thread in a while, but as always, there is an incredible amount of quality being produced by this community! Always impressed.
Finally! Figuring out Sculptris a little more. I'm definitely a better sculpter than I was yesterday. The low poly could have a little more geometry I think... I haven't learn't how to retopo yet so I just used the base mesh that I modelled and imported into sculptris to create the high poly. All renders taken in Blender.

I watched the legend of korra last night so I sculpted Aang's Son, Tenzin.

Might give fiber-mesh a try on this.

Here's a brick texture I sculpted from scratch and textured with some various custom brushes and 1-2 image overlays. Looking for some feedback please!
Felt like making a shield, so I did!
