Had these in my sketchbook but think they go beyond just sketches so going to plop them in here instead. Crits are welcome but I probably won't be revisiting these pieces as I have to forge ahead to make new stuffs.
Been working on this project on and off for a while now. I'm pretty proud of it as it's one of the few projects I've managed to stick with. It's quite simple but that was my intention. Let me know how shit it is -
I have been working on this guy for a while now but haven't been able to give him my full attention because I'm in my last 5 months at Full Sail University. Still, it has come a long way...
Some recent professional work that just got approved for showoff. I'll probably do a proper dump post some day once I get the other characters waxed and polished for the showroom. But until that happens, here's a medic... ~9500 triangles. The simple block shapes on her hips and the holster shape on her leg get replaced in-game with modular items.
And yes she's supposed to look like a total bitch.

Thats awesome! Great to se a female game character with some dignity!
So I needed to get away from modeling for a bit.
These are paint wips, except the top right one, which I think I'm just going to move away from since I don't even know what I'm doing with it really.
This is mostly compositional study, how to get those blocks of shapes and color and lighting working together. Different styles I guess too.
Crits welcome.
This is why I'm not a character artist, haha. But it was fun to work on, at least! I may go back to work on it in the near future, so, anything you see that is glaringly bad, or just bothering you a little? Thanks so much.
Bit of progress on beastie, mainly faffing around with the claws. Think they're more or less where I want them, still working on the wrist where there is the transition of soft flesh on the arm and hard surface on the claw.
Thanks everyone, glad he's recognizable.
Yeah something seems off, just can't seem to figure out what it is.
And unfortunately I suck at eyebrows, so will take some practice to get those right
even simple painted on masks will do, it doesn't need fibermesh to sell the hair for the likeness, just show some brows to get a feel on how it will look like later on, you can also use this as a mask for fibermesh later on

Mayaman, love the back and back of the arms on that strong brute.
Started on this today from a Tim McBurnie concept:
Wanna focus on getting the "non classic beauty" across and keep the exagerated proportions:
Critiq is much appreciated.
Start texturing
Also, I finally found a use for Marmoset's ridiculous amounts of bloom!
My attempt to learn as much as I could about norms/spec/displace maps. All textures done in Photoshop and crazy bump.
Also, these were some other tests:
Everything done in blender internal renderer

bake and a little bit of painted in lighting
damn that will make awesome facebook header thingy
our dwarf got printed and cast in tabletop size, really crazy how much it was overexegerated and how much still gets lost in translation
The print/cast turned out really well, considering the size (I'm assuming about an inch tall?). Who did your printing?
He's missing eyebrows... Could be whats throwing it off. I know that is what it is for me... Nice work... Almost there but not quite yet...

Made a thread to not spam this thread to much :

Def looking good, but take a look at her feet. I think she could use a shoe size just a tad bigger....unless you're into really small feet LOL
moof - Those are some kick ass concepts/drawings!
