Here's what I was working on, but I'm going to shelve this model, at least until I know what to do with it. I wanted to make an Asian person for a change, I wanted to make someone with a vest, and I wanted to make a very skinny and tall stylised woman... But I don't think the three really work together all that well in one model. It hovers uncomfortably between realistic and stylised without the guts to go for either.
@LRoy : I really am in love with your character hahaha. How did you do the fur? Same way as in Shadow Of Colossus? I'm curious about it's shading.
Here's a little piece of environment on which i've been working on today. It's part of my graduation short. Still a work in progress, i will probably post more as i progress. C&C are welcome, this still need alot of work !
Short is in the victorian years, early 1900. This is the main door of a mansion. I need to work more on the frame, maybe put some windows over the door, i'm still looking at suggestions.
so i got a comment on the size of the legs. i had originally wanted a somewhat stylized character with some realistic detail. made three variations. first one is the original. which one would work better?
Havent got much to show yet! ;(! but im doing some art for a friends game, here is a concept trying out a style, inspired heavily by mirrors edge and numerous other things like tf2.
Frogfish: that is pure sex
Urbanmelon: <3 lovely why depressing ? :!
I was tempted to say "yup, Woody" to protect my ego. But where's the fun in that. Not Woody this time.
Hopefully with more work and a hack jobbed Photoshop wig he will be recognizable. Still a ways to go though..
First time doing hard surface in ZBrush. 7000 tris and a 2048 texture later, I'm pretty happy. Cross posting from personal thread. Gonna walk away for a few hours and come back and change anything that looks off.

First of all, I am new here, and I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong thread.
I also apologize for the need to watermark this image. People have been stealing my intellectual property a lot lately.
Anyway, this is a digital paint of a zealot from Blizzard's Starcraft franchise crossed with the iconic Uncle Sam Army recruiting poster. I hope you enjoy it!

You should print that on t-shirts and you would make a killing. Id maybe make the protoss guy a bit bigger/fill up the poster a bit more. Looks awesome.
Nina L, or Nina i - to get rid of the white speckly borders around your alpha planes, make sure the background matches your UV islands a bit.
Thanks for the comment Snader, and hehe - I. stands for an i. The background colour of my maps is already quite close to the colour of the textured detail, the white edges appear only in the viewport and not when rendered. Here's a quick render shot.
Hi, I have a small problem. I am working in 3ds Max and my texture for the branches had been 2-Sided in the material editor. In the viewport the setting looks ok, however there's something strange when rendered. Any clues as to what causes this? Thanks!
Just put this together the last hour or so, was a fun little project. Was supposed to be like the Quake 2 Strogg Guards, but ended up looking way more like Quake 3's Visor:
Practicing and practicing and practicing again on my hard surface texture painting. When I'm happy with the results I'm getting (hopefully with the finished RPG-7 as an example) I'm gonna record some sort of tutorial-esque thing on painted metal surfaces so I can solidify the process in my own head and maybe help other nooblets who are, like myself, finding material definition a bit of a ballache. Making progress!
Spatz: Im sure he would be proud his was is super inspirational! and that model is le sex!
Livewire: Clemens worked on army of two! :P so it should hehe
Oh and a mega delayed thanks to everyone for their kind comments! !

Been working on a modular-ish UDK project with as few materials as possible, so I've been making some tilable mats for my props. One of them that has been a blast to fiddle with is bronze/patina'd bronze.
WIP!
Been badly needing some realistically textured junk to fill that hole in my portfolio...
