question: i see the polygons of some of the characters, but i just can't believe that this is the low poly model of an iphone game. did you create a mid poly model to texture and bake?
Neglected posting here for a while but here is some of the progress on the BNI project and I'll also dump some wip stuff on a concept vehicle. I seem to have lost a lot of confidence in pushing past block-out stages lately, mostly from lack of real understanding of 'what to do next', just need more practice really, I have no end of tutorials to follow, its just finding the time. Anyhooo heres some crap:

Still need to import assets, some derelict/demolished dumbell apartment buildings in the foreground, rubble and variation on the ground topology, sidewalk/pavement and a perimeter fance. A few UV problems to fix.

The following is an attempt to create a hybrid air to sea rescue vehicle which is to 'fly' to the location of a sea disaster such as a submarine crash, ship wreck etc and be able to quickly submerge itself and aid rescue attempts.
I thought of merging a VTOL aircraft design with a submersive functionality.
Quick Concept ideas:
Developing final idea:
Using robotic arms, a rescue worker is to be seated at the front in a dome screened cockpit to manipulate rubble/use laser cutters to gain access to wrecks.
A pilot and copilot are seated at teh top of the aircraft for both navigating air and deep sea.

Using shaders provided by codemasters for realtime rendering I set up a very basic scene and whacked on some very hastily done textures to try gauge a better art direction for the scene:

I hope to finish both these projects off over the Christmas period.
Just laid down some base textures and not entirely sure in which direction I'll go with this one. There's thousand Sword designs and details out there. Will have a think about it. Any thoughts?

Working on the chest and abdomen right now, so will probably do a couple of these ecorche drawings over the next few days before moving on to the next part (shoulders / upper- and lower back)

thanks. you are correct, these are cutscene assets and the ingame LODs were handled by Gameloft in-house team.
finished this bad boy up (high poly at least). this has been on my to do list for quite some time. glad to have finally gotten it done. during the renders i did notice the bit of stretching in the geometry on the front faces of the rails, but that angle is so harsh im just not going to touch it.
Twoflower: nice nice hand painted textures nice work ont he orange. Contrasting colour really makes it pop. You should play around with adding another colour to your pallet to break up the sea of green.
yeah that's a fair call since the colour separation here. being just geo. gives no indication really of any differences in material. it'd be a combination of futureTech moulded robot rubber and hard plate chunks that will slide over each other and shift where they'd need to for articulation. the arms for example are almost entirely the flexible rubberyNess. . .
