Gawd, i'm jealous of all these character's! they're all great!
But anyways, here's an update on my spark of imagination(wow)/alien/matrix/final fantasy mash-up:
I've added some filters to increase the grungyness of it and give it more of a filmic appearance, much too crisp before. Kind of wierd, not wanting it to be crisp.
Trying to ramp up on Modo. Getting the hang of things, slowly. Going to try and quickly sculpt/retopo/bake this before getting back to my main project.
In anticipation of the new season of Breaking Bad, I decided to dust off my unfinished Walter White sculpt. After reworking him some today, I think I'm liking how he's turning out this time around and hopefully, I can wrap him up tomorrow...then maybe a base of some kind...?
Normals added in, no spec yet. glows/effects are in. Not sure why marmoset is moving my UV's on the weapon. In maya its fine, in Marmoset, I can see the AO bake is showing up around the spikes as if the UVs have been shifted, or flipped?
Really diggin' that bot there Suburbbum... lots of other great stuff on these last few pages
My dude is about finished.. I know he's not completely accurate to the reference, as I used more than I'm showing there.. gave myself room for interpretation and what I thought looked good.. still had a ton of fun and glad to call him done..Will rig and pose and update soon
@Cap, very nice scene, I am guessing this is rendered in the CryEngine3 ? @Kartoonhead, also an impressive scene! have any more plans for this environment ? One thing I am wondering though is why it is relatively bright in the area.
I planed to make more but the first try work fine for me.
I think you did great, I've seen similar looking women in real life. To be honest it's refreshing to see artists do imperfect women for once rather than the perfect golden ratio good looking type. I think you can sell the concept well if you manage to pull off the body as well.
On another note I think 1, 4 and 6 are good hairstyles. (all of them are good depending on body type and what type of clothing you're aiming for)

Awesome stuff as always guys!
Snefer, you amaze me.
aajohnny: reminds me of Last of Us in a way.
More terrain and World Machine texture testing/work. Starting to get ideas of what I like in World Machine and how to preserve the res all the way to UDK.
Spent the day refreshing myself on skinning (and learning skinning in a new Maya to boot) But here's the result of it with my character I'm working on. Definitely will reskin her tomorrow, I've got a weird problem when I rotate the spine joints, Maya is sluggish to respond to it, and so it's very laggy. Something in the skin or parenting is causing the problem.

Beautiful Guyver, man!!! I love being able to zoom into it too
I took again the lance that I left couple of months ago and finished it today. It is one of the lances that Lancer in Fate Zero uses.
This is how was before:
and this is now once finished:

Next, grass texture? Grass? Rocks? One of those.

Trying to make a Steampunk flintlock pistol, any crits would be useful
I'm planning to use this as a base to do more detail for the highpoly in Mudbox. Then for the lowpoly I'm planning to simplify the pre-Mudbox version.
So yeah, any advice for a noob would be great
EDIT: This is very much WIP, got a lot to do on the barrel and finish of the firing mechanism.
Simply gorgeous!
is it all generated, or did you give some shapes for world machine to work on first?
What light is this? It looks amazing.
Edit: Oh, the tubes? They suck!
