Did a bunch of posts get deleted from this thread or something? Or is there another Last of us thread for e3? Could of swore I seen one a day or two ago.

I am happy to hear form the design perspective what the game is about. I like that. Games that make me care and really think what i would do in an extreme situation are more intense imo. I am looking fwd to this game. not only because it looks awesome. but i want to see what kind of story it ends up playing as.
Yeah, I saw that a while ago. Seeing movies from the game is great, but so far it seems to be moving from one event to another.
It's actually not from what I understand. During E3 a lot of the game outlets got to play behind closed doors and they discussed how different it was for them compared to the shown demo. They have this crazy system with lasers and fancy tech that read the environment that results in it looking so scripted when it actually isn't.
""A lot of people are wondering about the fluidity of animation", says Jacob Minkoff, lead designer on The Last of Us.
When you push the punch button, it fires a bunch of rays around the game world, and says 'What's nearby?'. Oh, there's a wall nearby. Or there's a desk nearby. So if you press the punch button and make contact, it will smash this guy against the wall"
I really like how they shoot but they don't really hit, since it would be hard to aim and get into cover when you are scared shitless... I don't like the glow on things you can interact... but i am sure that will get polished as the project moves forward. Also... i love the overall look, but i can't stop and feel that textures look a little muddy overall, compared to some of the characters. Also, something that i am sure we'll see updated.
The controls seem very natural, i hope they keep that realism overall.
Also. you gotta love the interaction and dialogue for everything. Reactions to things as they happen. I can't wait what kind of story they want to tell us with this game. Do we know who is writing? creative director? same peeps as Uncharted?
EDIT: holy smokes, i did not notice he looks hurt after that beating. Looks like he has a broken nose, also, his arm look a little weird after falling down. Maybe they'll keep some survival realism in it. Like snake in mgs 3 having to tend to wounds and what not. That is awesome!
That looks absolutely amazing, that it's presumably not a scripted sequence and all dynamic is just mind boggling, I cannot wait to get my hands on this.
I can only assume everyone working on this game knows May 7th is my birthday, and they are making me the best present! Can't wait, the trailer looked awesome
That Trailer, Man.....The game looks insanely brutal. Like every hit makes my body hurt, that explosion on the end hits so hard, even though the blast itself is so small. Bravo. You guys at Naughty Dog are reaching another level in story telling and gaming.
Also make sure to pick up the art book, we just got them in at work today and they are really fantastic! Its packed full or so much concept art goodness, I was really surprised at how much art they got in here. No production shots though, only concept art.
What does everyone think of Naughty dogs game 'The last of us'? I thinks its got a really cool concept. Heres a good description video of it. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etRDP94KEE8"]The Last of Us, Game Preview | SBTV Games & Gadgets? - YouTube[/ame]
i refuse to read more about it, or watch any videos or play the demo. I just know the game is gonna be awesome, so can't wait to play it! Once i play i'll post what i think about it
It's one of the few games I'm REALLY looking forward to playing and I'm glad they didn't put it on the PS4 because I'm probably not going to jump on the new console bandwagon.
Yep same here I try to stay away from the spoilers, I do tune into whatever they spill about the tech and workflow and thankfully that is usually spoiler free.
And now I'll get out of here before anyone starts dropping anything specific.
I have never bought a special/collectors edition to a game before, this will be my first. Played the demo last night and it is honestly even more then what I expected and that was a lot.
Played the demo and liked it, was surprised by the weapon upgrade system, reminded me a bit of Dead Island in that sense. Story will be the thing that needs to hold up throughout.

Technical term would be ray-test, and just about every game uses them. :P
Now setting up a system that triggers different animations and events depending on situations and have it work fluently, that's art!

Latest trailer from the VGA's. May 7, 2012 release date! The guys who worked on this trailer did a fantastic job, the game is looking great
Sure is! Can hardly believe it's running on current gen. It just looks too good. Makes me wonder what nextgen will bring to the table.
