I love the idea of the daily 'spitpaint', I don't paint anymore but can see amazing potential for improvement coming from such activity. Really like that character you have created in the prophet. I am new here so I don't know how long you have been doing the spitpaintings, but do you ever get such a good base that you want to refine it more and polish it up?
incredible stuff in this sketchbook, definitely subscribing (if i can figure out how, im terrible at the internet lol). the thumbs in your most recent post look a little off though, it seems like they are dislocated, perhaps having the pads of each thumb face more inwards towards the rubics cube would help a bit?
Thanks man! I think you need to turn on an option in your user control panel for subscribing to threads that you make a post in. Agree with your comments about the thumbs but im too lazy to go back and fix it. instead i started to do some hands studies (pen and paper) so ill work upp my skills on drawing hands so i can draw better hands next time. Btw the anatomy stuff in your sketchbook is killer!
This is a nice sketchbook . I think that piece looks pretty good as is. Perhaps you could push some places darker in between the tiger and the girl and add some volumetric fog for the background. You could also add a slight gradient darkening downwards to your main characters. Do you mind if one paints over the top to explain?
If you feel the face is too flat you could always enhance the form but i think it looks fine.

Be careful not to put the mouths too low or lower the chin. Body proportions needs more practice. You're hiding it behind nice rendering.
The new portrait is definitely a step up. Neck should be more in shade as it's further back in the hood. I recommend experimenting more with stronger cast shadows. It's a powerful tool for creating depth and hierarchy in an image.
