Bored of trying to make realistic characters so having a go at making something super stylised for a change. Was gonna do this for brawl and make a BB hood model/redesign but got bogged down with Uni work.
Just blocking in the proportions right now and trying to get a chunky silhouette. Not sure about the face yet. Crit appreciated.
Future-fiction: Nice base dude, love the hair, I think the stylized look is being translated well into 3d.
Dan!: Nice sword, for the end result do you intend to make the flames using alpha planes or particle effects. Maybe both?
As for me this isn't part of the environment I'm currently working on but here is a retopo'd model of a sculpt I did a while back. Did the retopology with Maya's Make Live option. Second time using this workflow and I've been liking the results so far.
DDuckworth - looking pretty good. Couple things to consider; try thinning the grass out a bit more towards the back of the scene. Perhaps make some small rocks, flowers, plants to populate the scene a bit.. like along the path. And lastly, if your trying to stay true to your skybox, then the front of the stone would be in shadow.

Good points, i'll get some flowers made and maybe some rocks, yeah I guess i'll have to sacrifice the skybox trueness haha, I might try out another sky but that probably wouldn't change that.
Great work James, you make me think of how much of a pain the vents were. Oh and was any inspiration from Arkham Asylum on the pulling off the vent? I thought of it.

Anyway, an update on my sweagen. Gonna start the retopo; fix some stuff and bake this bitch down. Then he needs a shotgun and a bottle of scotch and we're good to go!
James: Great work. Not really a trailer imho, more a "what Half-Life would look like with kick ass secondary animations" but impressive and gets me back into the Half-Life feeling...
Hah, nice! I actually looked at the drawings before seeing who posted them and thought to myself "hey, these look like Dado's work". Maybe it's a good sign, you're developing a recognizable style.
Ahh.. thank you sir.. yeah.. I think I missed a vert or two while weighting that hand.. I'll take a look at it again.. good to know about that color variation.. and yeah he is a lot more green.. I'll take a look at it again.. thanks for the heads up..
af3d: She's looking kinda cool ! One thing that stands out to me though are the legs simplicity compared to the feet and the hand. I think she could do with some more details in that area, maybe some more elements that complements her upper body ?

I've continued working on the girl and here's the progress;
Considering adding a few more accessories and an imaginary friend big enough for her to ride on, as that would be a fun thing to do !
We'll see what ( if ) I'll come up with but it will probably be more along the lines of the cartoon show "Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends" than a puppy I want to make a colorful creature with some interesting shapes to contrast the "normal" look of the girl.
A good example is the "Short Tailed Qi" by Davesrightmind It's still just an idea I haven't fully explored though so I might not actually incorporate it. I hope it makes sense !
