I'm trying to find an internship this summer, and put together this small piece to help seal the deal. Been working on it for 3 days now. I've never made a low-poly environment, so please be critical!
Martin Henriksson : that look amazing , i remember that stage .. are going you planning to break it like in the game , some water around ... ect / looking forward to see more good job
MephistonX - That is looking really nice! I have seen the concept many a time, its hard to forget and i think your peice looks awesome. The textures are really nice and do you have some sort of shader going on there?
Karera - that is beautiful! A couple of things though firstly the bit where you push the button, it doesnt seem to be attached to anything? and the texture for each of the colour displays seem a bit out of scale? Does that make sense? It is very pretty though!
Awesome style, eyes look a little wonky, they see to point outwards a bit.
thanks not sure what you mean, her eyes have a bit of an unnatural slant in some pics in the comic so I tried to stick to that, doesnt translate so well to 3d or maybe its cause the eyes arent spheres they are just sculpted in as this was just a few hours of fun
Just finished up a personal project in UDK. Trying to level up my skill set somewhat to stay competitive as a level designer. Learning lots about Mudbox, 3DS Max and Photoshop ... ! LOTS left to learn. Heh.
I took some time to work on this guy over the weekend, I'm pretty much calling it done as far as the high-poly version is concerned, but if you find something crucially wrong or something that just needs a bit of fix be sure to let me know. cheers!
Did a little sculpt when I thought I might have time to enter the Brawl, but I realized school was getting in the way. So I threw it into Topogun to learn the ropes and decided to go a little further with it today. I'm probably not going to do the full character unless I suddenly find myself with a ton of time on my hands.
trying to finish an old scene (eat 3d contest i started months ago) i made all the retopo already, but i dont know yet if i texture it or if i just make a little high poly scene, cuz i want to try making an environment on udk.
anyway here a render of it using a matcap i made 2 years ago, but with better render settings now with zbrush 4. You can use it if you want! its.....White! http://orbart.free.fr/Orb PureWhite.ZMT
Looks great and thanks for the matcap I love it!!!
Here is my 2 cents
Could not help but start something new even while I have projects left unfinished!! Just over 2 hrs for this guy. Good fun
Might make a full stylized solider like one of these guys
organizedchaos - Sweet! nice sculpt, I've been practicing with some paul richards stuff too hahaha. i had already done the nuclear skull face dude, and when i saw your post i had to try out this other little dude :P
two speedsculpts from me (based on Paul Richard's work)
Wow guys! You make everything I do look like crap! (and make me feel like crap...j/k)
Well, I used the female reference photos, and conglomerated them together and drew over them to make a female model sheet. I intentionally kept it loose, and also asymmetrical, so there can be a lot of freedom still. Maybe it can be useful to someone else also? Just posting it here.
Woha so much awesome stuff! Almost don't want to post mine... but here it goes. Its just a little update. Managed to expand my lowpoly short sword series to 03! Here is a screenshot:
Here is a shot of a wrecked ferry WIP based on ref which can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jag9889/2955391376/in/photostream/
This is just a render from maya but I'm going to throw it in UDK and finish it off there.
Several things are off here and there and I made it beached on a sandbar or whatever instead of being on water but I just wanted to get it close enough.
Looking really great so far Seth, the anatomy is very well defined. The only crit I have is that it feels like he is hunching his shoulders in the back view, I think it's because the curves on the sides of his back are a little too exagerated, but I might be wrong about this.

Concept is from Guild Wars 2 (Link: http://www.guildwars2guru.com/wp-content/gallery/guild-wars-2-concept-art/weapons.jpg).
Some of the details are hard to read from the image, so I'm just making it up as I go. Been lots of fun so far!
I don't know what this can be considered, but I use it as a wallpaper. Anyway, I'm still learning.
@Konstruct: That mantis man is awesome.
