I'm forcing myself to learn anatomy, and "finished" my first human sculpt today. I worked my ass off on this but I know it came out awfully. I need second eyes though because I don't know where to go with this! Please, tell me what I did wrong and how I can fix it. Yes the heads missing, I'm not nearly ready for faces.
Yep, already looks way off to me after being away for 5 mins.
DOG-GY: start with the lowest subdivision and try to get the forms as close as possible, then move up one and repeat. You should only start the details at a later division when all the forms are there.
I did some more work on my killer croc and i'm calling him done, unless anyone sees any issues that would be easy to fix. The pics are straight screencaps from max using the 3point shader, and then a background was added in photoshop. There are more pics, wireframes, texture flats, and a turn around anim here http://www.ericspitler.com/killercroc.html
spitty: That Killer Croc is fantastic. Completely superior to the one in Arkham Asylum, I think. Very well done sir!
Just a bit of sculpting WIP for my entry for the Clement Sauve comp at CGFeedback. I definitely want to push the graphic angularity and add some more asymmetry once I've got all the folds in there:
> I could show you guys what I've been working on lately, but after taking a quick stroll through this thread and checking out the brilliant artwork here, I've realized what a piece of shit my art is compared to what you guys produce. And to think that I was once going to college to do this professionally. Sorry I couldn't be more productive, but I just had to say my peace.
Jovicic : Although i'm not a huge fan of the face (to asian for me) i love the hands. The overall statue is fantastic.
Nick: I think you mean "perceived dimensional graphic angularity", but then we would be splitting hairs...lol...Seriously though this cut/undercut style that has been floating around lately, is really easy on the eyes, and remains fully entrenched from cliche'...looking forward to the rest of it.

Just go for it. Pros showing their stuff never discouraged me from posting my crap here.
I just realised that doing small things like this actually more fun than making full characters, you don't get tired of it (10 hours total) and can focus on really important stuff like boobs

Just saw this on deviant art earlier, badass slipgate!
I wanted to do hair like that on my last character but was afraid it wouldn't work but look at you prove me wrong!
Not digital, but about a month ago I helped another artist fabricate some prop heads for Lady Gaga's new Music video/ Grammy Performance...I guess the video just launched recently. I enjoy it up until the 2:30 mark though. But they were sculpted caricatures of Lady Gaga painted up to resemble Ziggy Stardust.
At first I was like "Hey! No crosses!" and I smiled. Then I saw them hidden in the corner and I thought "it's a phase, he'll grow out of it" and I smiled again.
Awesome sculptures, bro! That first one is very vivid and interesting.

Planning on wrapping this high poly up tomorrow, any suggestions? Disregard the right hand and foot they will be mirrored.
jramauri : Your sketch is spot on, really captures Javier's unique look.
this is pure win!

Tsk, why do I always hear of these things when they are half over >:(
Took about 2-3 hours.
I still have a few small errors to clean up
Are you sure those screenz are with low poly model ?! )
Impressive bake dude
btw, I'd love some wires
restarted the APC project.
heres the wires
The triangulation isn't ideal. I should have spent more time manually triangulating but at this point i'm not going to backtrack on that.

All done on a heavily hacked install of wordpress.
Tear it to pieces.
Early WIP.
Based on this concept:

Which reminds me, in the concept, look at the crossguard. What kind of material would you guys think the crossguard is made of?

They turned out awful and I didn't think they'd be used so I accepted a payment of $40 cash and some beer. Nothing but regrets now.
I cleaned up my mounty a bit.
