Hello!
I try to learn how to paint good concepction in PS. This is my first 3 steps.
No picked used in picture 2 and 3 and I dont repaint proportion from picture.
One picture take me 1 hour.
Next step will be full female figure.
Step1:
A doodle from yesterday. I had found some colors I liked and wanted to apply them to a rock texture and see if it would fit what I'm planning to do. It turned out to be like what I was picturing so it went into the keepers vault for my personal project. Figured I'd post it up as people seemed to be digging on it.
Just messing around with some post processing in UDK. Made post processing materials for vignetting and chromatic aberration, also made a LUT for color grading.
pimptacular tkfrog!
papagersi man that's comin along great
lateness...thanks Nick, ChisPerr, Malus, and Duck! - it was some waterbased soldate-60. This is my first semester messing with clay - digital sculpting transfers pretty directly though. It's really awesome to sculpt something 4realz haha
Probably because your samples are too low. I usually bake out at 256 samples, that gives perfect smoothnes. It takes longer of course, but that's the price of quality. What software are you using? I find xNormal to be most efficient at occlusion baking.
I'm using Blender, but I was actually referring to the render being all fuzzy/noisy when you've got AO turned on. The bit about the sample size'll be helpful when I get to that part, though.
@iConstruct: looks very nice ^^ one question though: what was your approach on the trees? how did you populate the branches with leaves? did you position them manually, or use some kind of plugin? (in the last case, i'm guessing speedtree)
@iConstruct- really nice execution. though I`d increase the frequency of your waves. right now they look really large, making your scene seem smaller than it is
@Iconstruct: definitely the first one. also about the tree: so that means you actually manually positioned, rotated and scaled every single leaf? damn that must have been work-intensive... any particular approach you had to make the whole thing faster? i'm asking because i have to do something similar and i'm trying to find a shortcut. and while i'm aware that not everything has a shortcut and that some things just require good old repetitive work for hours on end, i still prefer trying to find a shortcut and finding one than spending hours and hours positioning leaves on a tree...
@MaVCArt
Obviously you don't have to work with every single leaf it's suicide!))
Here you'll find great explanation how to make a great custom trees http://www.matroskinworks.com/3d_ruins.html (scroll to the bottom).
So basically you just create few types of branches with leaves and then just placing them manually on your trunk.

Kinda randomly started doing this. Planning on going deeper into the cave then it opening it up into something awesome...don't know what yet though.
Why is ambient occlusion so fuzzy?
Thanks!
Here is a little more of Ivans stuff.
Clockwerk from dota 2
Nice table, but shouldn't it have CCCP on it instead of USSR?

So it's time to create something new like modular environment, probably later I'll come back to this work
Special thanks to Vlad [Matroskin] for help!!!
Not sure if I am getting this gold material down right...
@MaVCArt
Because this tree is unique everything made manually, otherwise it doesn't work really well with this hut inside.
I'll edit background later, but now I need your advice about water frequency, which is looking better with this scene?

Started a maid sculpt too in zbrush, since i mostly struggle with girls character.. and wanted to give a try at cloth sculpt, first time this complex.
If you could give some serious critics, i'm would be honored, i'm looking forward improving.
Working on vempire concept.
Here's my interpretation of the DC character Killer Croc (zbrush sculpt/render, comp in photoshop)
