been watching a ton of breaking bad and just watched the hitcher again (the remake) and got inspired to work on a desert style dusty road. made a road shader in udk that lets me blend in a ton of different things and threw in some quick terrain with a random texture on it and then did this paintover to flesh out my idea for the scene.
when its all said and done it should hopefully look something like this. excuse the wonky perspective/proportions on most shit and its a bit blurry, but should give the gist of what I want to achieve.
Hey, Polycount! My first post here. Currently working on my SC2 fan-art - an infested marine next-gen. Planning to give myself a 13k tris limit and use 2048^2 textures. Here's the sculpt, still very WIP:
Quick mech doodle... trying to come up with a design for a small leightweight mech that is not too similar to the style of the big mech universes (battletech, gundam, heavygear, robotech etc.).
Thanks for the crits last time guys :] I made some changes and dropped her in marmoset as a test.]
Awesome work, Future-fic, she looks great. Do you have a portfolio or blog of your other work? Lil Red here is all that I know of your stuff.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks all :] Gonna start something new now and skin her in the mean time.
Also, how many of you guys on here use Maya at work? I think its time for me to learn it in order to get a job...
PDC - I do! Though the other stuff on there is pretty different haha http://blair-portfolio.blogspot.com/
daphz - Gotta attempt to skin this first but I really want to!
Dreamer - :P
Been pretty busy getting married but catching up on all my projects now that I have some time again.
Just did a sculpt for the S.A.F.S pilot so hope to get the low res and bakes done as soon as possible.
First time in UDK for some time so learning it all right now and blocking out my neoclassical theatre in it, feeling pretty good about the workflow now so can spend more time just getting all my assets sorted and up to scratch for it. So much still to do, think I will need to do a basic tilable hallway to recover.
Meet the CARGOrilla bot. Done as a sparetime project. I designed it to look as if it was part of the Portal universe.
The bot has taken a liking to the companion cube, but was originally designed to shove heavy machinery or containers around. Draw in 12 hours with standart brush and texture brushes from Daarken.com
I thought I was done, but I figured I need a better backdrop, so that's comming up soon.

This deserves its own thread... It would be great to see any break down shots you have also, there might be some scattered across the almost 300 pages in WAYWO but it would be awesome to have it all collected in one place, it also makes it easier for people comment on without doing what I just did (quote it for the 50th time slowing the thread down)
It also makes it easier for us to link to when we do the ReCap...
This is great work, nicely done! I love the wolf tails, ha, so awesome.
Toying with some ideas for a small udk project as a ice breaker to get used to it.
I'm aiming for a Blue, white, black colour pallette. Just keeping it simple so that i dont need to focus too much on the colour balance and final composition ect.

Finished another tower. Cannon Tower! Levels 1 - 3. I'll make a thread for the project when I finish the next tower series. For sure this time.
