Actually the disconnects are a major issue for a lot of people, myself included. My internet connection is kinda wonky. It drops a lot for about 10seconds at a time. That's just bad enough to drop me out of the game on a daily basis. For a $60 game, I don't know, that's kinda shitty. True, it's through no fault of their own, it's my own connection. But it does bring up the lack of offline-mode thing again and how that affects a lot of people.
Well I've heard you can pause the game when playing alone, so if that's true, they might just pause the game if your connection kicks out for 10 seconds instead of dropping you from the game.
My battletag is blaizer#2121, but i won't be playing it until i receive my retail copy.
Servers are collapsed... there aren't enough copies... buahh i will need to wait some weeks to play the game. At least, I hope to play without the problems people are having on the day one.
Shiniku, i'm surprised you hate people who pay more to get little bonuses in game, have you ever played a mmo?. I have the limited edition of the darkness, i paid more, and the same with the radnet edition of prototype 2. I think is great for customers to have ingame extras. Battlefield 3 is another example, and mass effect 3 aswell, with both of them i have the most expensive version of the games, and i'm quite happy to have all the ingame-extras.
A if i talk about more games, i could not stop... Kingdoms of Amalur is another example with its preorder bonuses, weapons, dlcs, etc.
I really love to pay for extras like dlcs, exclusive weapons, etc. That's what means for me a CE game.
For all this, i think that the CE of Diablo 3 is worthless. And first, because i don't play Wow... we can't gift those extras we get with the collector's edition, a shame.
You know, this always happens to me. I'm sitting around, minding my own business, not really paying attention to any media that comes out for a game. But right around the time of launch, the hype train runs through my living room and says "HEY RYAN, JUMP ON BOARD WE JUST ARRIVED! TIME TO PARTY DOWN, BRO! WE GOT ZIMA IN THE BACK!"
From reading around theres no one at level 60 yet... they've just completed some of the initial difficulty modes which isn't surprising as it only takes around 8-12hours by the looks of it.
Went to Gamestop hoping I could buy the art book off someone there as I assumed not everyone would care about it. No dice, blah! Will wait and hope there are some CE's to be found.
Damn I want the art book more then the game! hahaha
Hmmmm if any of the many Blizzard folks want to hook me up with one I could buy I would be willing to give you a signed copy of Uncharted 3 as thank you ha
didnt have any problem logging in. must just be lucky. had to download the entire game twice to be able to play it though, for some reason the first install was corrupt
My friend says he's taken 5 hours just on Act 1, so either he's retarded or the Koreans just rushed through everything, which seems more likely. The Beta alone took about 2-3 hours of playtime, so i doubt it's a 6 hour game.
Picked up and installing now, pretty stoked about it Couldn't get a collectors edition though, really want the artbook Was wondering if it can be sold seperately...
This game is fun. I am playing as a barb, and its just so sweet to see corpses flying away as i lay impending doom with my axe and fury. Really awesome game, and its pretty. Can't wait to get more skills to vary more my gameplay style. But overall, i am really happy with it, its fun and addicting, and the game is gorgeous.
I am happy to hear people saying it takes more than just 6 hrs for the game haha at least for initial play through. Plus i just take my time and explore every single inch of the map.
amm yea... add me to your friends list if you guys wanna play sometime.

I don't HATE people who like paying more for extra content. I just hate that business model. It feels wrong for someone who pays more to get a better, more complete game - especially when it's multiplayer online, and they get better weapons or something.
I just can't comprehend how you would think what you get with Diablo 3 is worthless. The artbook is amazing, and would probably run $30-$40 if it was just sold by itself. Making of DVD is a really cool thing to include (I haven't watched it yet). The Diablo head with soul gem USB drive looks awesome sitting on my desk.. and 4gb USB ain't bad. A lot of care was taken with the packaging.. everything about it just feels cool.

I've only been able to play the game for an hour. Alas, I had work at 8 this morning, and couldn't get to the server until 6am. And by 7 I had to go. it seems like they've ramped up the difficulty since the beta though. I'm really enjoying it thus far.
Also, I had a totally awesome midnight launch experience. Got a ton of free swag 9Poster, window sticker, and the big cardboard stand thing you see at gamestop) and I was able to get the CE even though I hadn't preordered and it was supposedly sold out. T'was a good night.
Mine is out for delivery from Amazon right now.
Is anyone having issues installing or logging in?
I read some people are.
So much hate for Diablo III on the reviews on Amazon.
Guess that is expected.

Is the game still very easy on normal like it was in the beta? Dont know what difficulty to choose when i start tommorow.
You don't choose your difficulty. Your character progresses through the difficulties sequentially, you must start a new character on normal. You could choose to play on hardcore mode, but the difficulty is the same, aside from permanent player death.
Also, I played the beta, and I feel like they have ramped up the difficulty. But even if it didn't... keep in mind you only played the very beginning of the game in the beta. Once you get to higher level areas, especially higher difficulties, you'll definitely feel more challenge.
I found the beta portion of the release about as easy as the beta was.. but the first section after it started to feel challenging. This is probably because the mobs are completely different and I had to learn their skills.

No problems so far with the install, update and logging in. Except for the first try to log in. Gave me an error, i retried and it logged in fine and has been for my later play through.
Also, i do think its a tad challenging, I've been playing for over an hr now and i like that i have to think about how i use my skills instead of just going through and hitting them. For example my barb, i use cleave since i tend to get surrounded by minions more often, so with that in mind i can hit more at the same time, also the stun is good for when i run into bigger foes, that stun i can land 2 hits that take most of their health away with my giant axe, but some take more hits, to those i use my giant looking hammer 2nd skill... and stun after i run a little bit.
Pretty epic so far, i can't wait to get more skills and level up. Very satisfying to see corpses ragdoll away one after the other.
The art in this is fucking amazing, i never played the other Diablo games before this so i went into this not expecting much but i really like it, although i don't really see the point of loot or gear or an auction house on an essentially single player game.
@Kave The loot/gear and auction house will mainly serve the hardcore out there who are going for warcraft style progression play. http://www.diabloprogress.com/ will be keeping track of the progression dates and times of anyone who elects to be tracked via battle.net
Inferno difficulty will be extremely hard according to blizz but impossible without multiplayer and people taking on specific roles.

Minor spoiler, I guess. Rumoured to be under 6 hours from begining to end, though anyone could have made that up.
Yep, every region was unlocked at midnight local times.
Also. Fuckin beautiful game. Can't be said enough!
