This is pretty freaking sweet, but I agree, you put way too much detail into it. Get rid of the glass thing, you're definitely going to regret it later, and it serves no purpose. Your style is a little too futuristic. Granted, since this is an Engineer update it should look a little futuristic, but some of your textures look like they came straight out of Quake. The models themselves are fine though, if you just make a few minor changes (no spikes and no glass thing!).
Also, if you can't find any inspiration for your "floral defense" theme, I'd suggest switching over to an alien theme. Your turret already looks like it was inspired by old 50's comic books, and the alien theme would fit perfectly in with the Engineer's background, being both an engineer and a Texas country boy. Plus seeing a turret firing lazers would be pretty much the best thing ever.
I'm glad to see you're actually excited about animation, not a lot of people are!

My Uncle uses that and makes a pretty good living out of it, but I haven't seen him in a while and I haven't really got the hope that I could teach myself. I'm pretty damn good at Photoshop being that I've used it for... around 9 years of my life? But 3D modeling is a path that goes un-ventured. After the guard dog and fake Engie updates, and now this, I really want to get to know the person behind all of this creative genius Nohomo.

Lucy is more heavy and slow, but she is a good partner for sure I dunno if you can see the cogs..due the quality of the video. The cogs working with the attack, turbine/cog in the level 3 and cog in the level 2. The level 1 rotate the 3 cannons too.

ahh damn...the video dont have the new sounds..i will generate another one before the end of the contest. Im pretty happy with the results, the deadline is comming i hope i can conclude all in time.
Also, i've been thinking about the contest and a question came up in my mind. We will have only one winner for the engineer class...but, different from the other 8 classes, the eng have his own buildings, he isnt only weapon and hats, he have that special feature and since we have only one winner in the eng class...
...Who win, wont fill all the slots of the eng (weapons/hats/buildings) since the rules says only 3 itens per submission and buildings with all 3 levels fill the 3 slots. So...
1- We will have a winner with nothing, just ONE building with the 3 levels (which can be a sentry or a dispenser (i dont see anyone with a teleporter idea in this contest yet))
2- A winner with weapons only (shotgun/pistol/wrench), no hats, no buildings.
3- A winner with a mix of uncomplete weapons pack and hats, but no buildings
Whatever who win, the eng will have his package imcomplete.
Well people, there is. We finish our job here. I made all the concept, design, idea, modeling and texturing part and my friend Dr.Eggman helped me a lot in the compiling, made the lucy works in the engine and refine. Sure the credit will be shared with him.
We still having bugs in the rotation, pre-attack and upgrading animation, but we dont have time neither knowledge to fix it for now. Since we have good chances that some part of sentry coding is missing in the convert process and we cant write it correctly.
Someone commented in the beggining that we're crazy or idiot enough to try make a sentry replacement..yes haha we felt that, Lucy was very hard and still dont work well, but the design is working and this is important. We have all the files Valve may need. Tomorrow we will send it!

My only comment is that it sounds like it fires a bit fast. I think it'd be better if you slow the rate of fire sound effect a tad.
Yes...she is fast because she have only one machinegun instead of two in the original sentry.

I like everything about it! the angry reaction, the rocket reload animation, the tracking, the sounds, the blueprint...
One thing, I would slow the firing sound a little, although I understand it has less guns so that's why it sounds that way.

I have no problems with the rules But, as i see, nobody here made a complete pack with all weapons/hats/buildings.
Of course that would've been a lot of work:
3 level sentries, 3 level dispensers, 3 level teleporters,1 primary, 1 secondary, 1 meelee, 2 pdas,
1 hat, 1 misc...
that'd be up to 16 items!
