Gah, so many differing opinions on such a tiny addition! @_@ Facepunch is telling me to use the metal, others are saying the ruler, I guess I'll just wait for a few more opinions on it before I decide which direction I want it to take.
Looks like it's the same guy who stole Habboi's hat under a new name.
No no, it wasn't my items that were stolen, it was Sexy Robots. I merely took action against him because no one else would and thieves should never think they can get away with it. In fact I'm annoyed it isn't down by now and not only that but I doubt he'll be fully punished. I'd slap a vac ban on him since that's all that can be done.
Anyway, Demon. Just submit two styles and let the community vote it up.
On a sidenote, has anyone else been able to list contributors other then themselves for submissions? Every time I've resubmitted I never got the finalize revenue sharing confirmation window, it just submitted the item straight away for me.
Also, ive build a snowman head based on the Horsemann's Head for last years christmas and was a bit disapointed when it didnt made it.
But now that they specifically asked for xmas entries i thought i should give it another shot and reworked it.
My version of a Kwanzaa Kufi, WIP, just base colors at this point. I feel like it needs something added to make it more holidayish. Crits?
Pretty simple really; the Christmas colours are red, green and white. Work some white in there in place of the dark grey and it will look much more festive.
Ok, me and sparkwire are nearly finished with this weapon, But I've always thought the handle should be wood. Spark thinks its better the way it is. We wondered if anyone else had an opinion on the matter.

iv'e never seen a trophy like that without a varnished wood base.

@JakeHarold: I agree with Max3D and Nofacej; having the pedestal be a different material than the figurine makes more sense. You can also look at the Saxxy Award they gave out some time ago for a trophy in the TF2 universe.
@Zalakzik: The poles holding the "barbershop pole" on the left looks like it's right on the glass. If you don't want to go back to modeling to fix it, you should at least put something there to show that it is being supported.
@Vi3trice: Looks sweet. Kind of confused by the gear at the bottom of the handle, but nice nonetheless.
@SexyRobot: Those boots are looking really nice. I'm guessing you're making a Santa Soldier Set, with the trim you posted earlier.
@SgtR007: Cool, someone else is making a Kufi.
Anyways, while I want to disagree with nofacej with adding the white since white is not a Kwanzaa color, white would make it pop more, as I am finding out with my more "traditional" version. I think you should somehow make it more "TF2-esque,", perhaps by doing something with the pins holding the strips together. Maybe you can have a TF2-logo pin, a Demoman-logo pin, or, polycount permitting, a miniature version of one of the secondary projectiles (Sticky Launcher, Scottish Resistant, or Sticky Jumper).
I had to take a break from this for the weekend, but today I have been playing around with the styles (I'll have to up my texture resolution for some of them, it appears). Which style do you think is the best, or what elements do you like the best?
@Salty McShivers: I like #1 through #4. The curved patterns don't seem to fit well.
Finished the texture on my Kwanzaa Kufi. I appreciate the feedback and suggestions. I opted for simplicity, but agree that a little bit of white helped it fit in with the typical Christmas style. As for the pins, they're so small that I don't think you would even be able to see a pattern on them.
Also, started work on an all-class hat. I know it's cliche, but no one seems to have made one yet, and I have some fun ideas with it.
WIP: "The Kiss of Death". Please provide me a better name. :shifty:
*EDIT* Hmmmm it looks like a mistletoe hat was submitted to the workshop, and was named "The Kiss of Death." I think mine looks better, but I still need a name.
The handle clips with his hand though, but I'll fix it later...
Looks good so far, I've always wanted Nicolas Crowder set for the sniper.
one thing you should fix is the antlers, they are a bit too close together
and the angle seems a bit off.
You should do the koala fur collar as well.
Well, that was a bit of a headache. Figured I'd make it a learning experience and pile Blender and Source Modding into the one bucket, along with importing custom weapons which looks like it worked out to be 100 times more involving than a hat. Ah well, any comments welcome.
I created a snowflake particle effect for the inside, and added all the requirements for the model ($attachment bone, references, particle manifest etc), but it still refuses to show up in the model viewer or test map. It's happening as well with the Mutton Chops (no smoke), so hopefully it's an easy fix.

Also, i don't think i posted this here yet. This should be the final version and i'm ready to take on another model. Added the belt buckle.
It is. So make sure to relieve that itching on your report button fingers everyone!
On another note:
Do you guys like the ruler or the reclaimed metal more?
I'd go with the ruler

It's shaping up to be pretty good. I honestly can't think of anything to add or change on it though.
Also, as far as the metal vs. ruler debate goes, I think I've settled on something that will please everyone:
Steel ruler for blue team.
I love it. I did think the ruler was better. Great Job!
Submitted, do please vote!
Something i whipped up in 2 or so hours.
LODs!
snow-globe throwable for sniper and/or scout
Someone's making a jarate filled one for Sniper over at Facepunch, haha.
I see no difference in them u must of had alot of unneeded polys lol
Those can't be manually invoked; only detected. Valve would do workshop bans instead.
Report buttons need a field.
And for the record, here's the origin of his golden knife.

Come on, it's a Major Award!
Been trying to see if anyone was interested in doing it in another forum with the weapon name "Fragili".

Keep up the good work, guys!
Then do it, man!
With the Conscientious Objector animations, it could work with so many classes.
The description should be "Must be Italian!"
I recently redid one of my old models.
Working in base colours right now, should be able to detail her tomarrow.
Hope you guys like it!
