Well I'm late to the whole gravy train (pun intended) to smissmiss-ville, but I'll be working on my own submissions for that. In the mean time, one think I like about itemtest is the amusing screenshots you can grab from it if you mess up. A while back I posted about a knife (dubbed "Scorpio" for now), I've since remodeled it:
And to get a basic idea on how it'll look, I've painted it with colors based on the color scheme, so it is currently just the AO over a solid color.
An issue I had was with testing it in game. As it turned out, I completely forgot to scale my model against the model of the stock knife. Hilarity ensues as I have an oversized knife sticking out of my chest.
Is there a check list somewhere I can look at to see what is actually meant to go on the zip file to upload?
At the moment it's got a tf directory with folders for models and materials (with appropriate paths), SMDs for the model and various LODs and some TGA and OBJ files.

Simplest way is just to run something through item test and use the created zip file as a template.
By the way, you are not to decorate the Festivus pole, as the holiday was created to give people a way to celebrate the season without the pressures of commercialism.
Jumping on the Christmas bandwagon with a Christmas themed bomb wagon. I hope I can finish it up on time. Plan B is retexturing the last year's cart. Not particularly sure about the shape of the christmas tree, might become better after I slap some ornaments on it. That barrel's probably gonna get replaced as well.
I'm not sure about the colors at all. I would be more than happy if someone wanted to model it. I'm not great at hat designs so I consider this a scrapped concept.
And there it is. After lord only knows how many hours going around and around and around in circles and some much appreciated help from Ruskeydoo, I have my hat in model viewer with both jiggle bones and texture. Texture looks like arse admittedly, but the damn thing is finally working.
Too bad the word Inspecteur has been used already.
Just have to finish up the mechanical arm and the hand
GAH. Guess you got to finishing yours long before I finished mine! Kudos though! And if you can send any help on how you got the bones to work properly send a "helping hand"! I can't figure this out ><

I'd like to try my hand at it if you don't mind.
I need to work on modeling off of others designs.

Are you having problems with getting them exported or just getting them to jiggle?
Jake: I saw that earlier on the workshop and thought it was pretty great. The best Pyro hats are the ones that show that the Pyro doesn't understand how hats work.
You ever think about calling that thing the Waltzing Matilda, Ronin? It's depression era slang for lugging everything you own around in a pack on your back and is also the name of what is undoubtedly the best known song in the Australian vernacular.
Little side project, after some tweaking will be a new Axe for the pyro. Untitled for now. Unwrap is up next, heres the high poly
Main changes I hope to include for the pyro-ified version is some burn marks and chips on the blade, the TF Logo right in the middle of the axe, and the Pyro symbol on the topmost visible 'pommel' (how else to describe them?)

unwrapped needle hammer with a quick test texture.
EDIT: just thought of this, a "Festivus-pole" from Seinfeld, how would one spruce up a pole?
I'd say go for it.

Not that that means you shouldn't give it a try yourself. I would have given it to the Pyro, personally.

What I'm currently working on is updating an older model to my current abilities. (Still WIP)
Here's the Gamebanana link to the set with the original for comparison to prevent more page stretching:

The problem is that I can't think of what to add to it so that it's silhouette is not so close to the scattergun. Any ideas?
