Looks good so far, I've always wanted Nicolas Crowder set for the sniper.
one thing you should fix is the antlers, they are a bit too close together
and the angle seems a bit off.
You should do the koala fur collar as well.
Thanks, I'm in the process of adjusting the skull with the help of Blaholtzen. I've decided to make those antlers streamlined like the other existing antler hats, but I'll see if I can use the antlers of the older version. And the koala fur collar is on its way!
Well, that was a bit of a headache. Figured I'd make it a learning experience and pile Blender and Source Modding into the one bucket, along with importing custom weapons which looks like it worked out to be 100 times more involving than a hat. Ah well, any comments welcome.
Aw sucks! I was also making a snowglobe for the pack.
The subject is different though:
Hey, thought I'd take advantage of the Christmas demand...
A Sandvich replacement for the Heavy, a Christmas Pudding! Do you think I'd have to include a "bitten" model as well?

I love the hell out of this. most class based hats only look really good on a few classes. this looks fantastic on EVERY SINGLE CLASS. upvoted.
OBJs can't carry skin and bone information, so I'd suggest you won't be able to until Valve change the tool
I don't see how itemtest works then, if you're just selecting an obj to test a hat, how does it know where to add the bone for the hat without you having already specified it?
You can select SMD or OBJ in the Itemtest tool, but I still have no idea about the functionality of it...I just stuck with the manual replacing items method to test my item.
Finally got all the pieces sorted for each class. Now to go back to each one and polish them. I thought I'd have lots of UV space but it seems I have none left XD
And there it is. After lord only knows how many hours going around and around and around in circles and some much appreciated help from Ruskeydoo, I have my hat in model viewer with both jiggle bones and texture. Texture looks like arse admittedly, but the damn thing is finally working.

Next step - make texture not look like arse.
That is god dam glorious, and an awesome bloody idea! I would love to see this in game. Well done.
Thanks for the comments on the wood. The rings are a little brash, I'll adjust them tonight.
For now, does anyone get were I'm going with this?
I've had the same idea before, but alas I don't think they would ever add such a blatant reference. Though, Spider's glasses are amazing, and I'd like a real pair if anything.
@Sparkwire: I dig the wear on the silver and grey areas. The blocky texture is too fine and busy.
I like this aluminum phone for reference on the silvery parts.(antennae too)
Got my hopes up when I saw 'Fixed the Loch-n-Load' in the patch notes, but the patch just does something with the death notice icon
It's really sad that it's been like a whole year since the loch-n-load was released and it's had a glaring model flaw that can be fixed with 2 minutes of effort.

@Sparkwire: you should try to paint it using flat colors and big brushstrokes instead of something that detailed. Also there are some edges that doesn't match, they may be hard to notice but it is allways better to fix them.
It used custom bones for the sight that Valve didn't implement and left the sight clipping with the front of the barrel rather than sitting where it's supposed to.
Okay, Polycount! Remember a few months back when I last posted, and my models were utter crap? Well I'm a lot better now. But I'll get to that later, for now:

Would you mind if I still finish it?
Also finally figured out the particle system!

I tried making it larger but it clipped too much because of the weird shape of the object and the snipers hand position for the thrown item
Ah thank you! It'll be for me the first to figure out the particle system too. Yours works like it should, good job!

Did you giggle to yourself when you did the AO bake?
Really liking that effect... looks great in-game!
PS - Anyone have links/tutorials on how to work-in particle effects? (Currently existing or creating new)

I plan on making it all_class, then submitting. It's of course jiggleboned. Crits? Is the name okay?

With regards to the OBJs, there's a setting to automatically rig the model to the head_bip bone.

"The Red Nosed Runner"
Does anyone know how I would get the nose to glow like the festivizer's lights?

I must have some kind of shoe fetish or something.
Need some serious crits on the texture, thanks.

What's wrong with it?
In OTHER news, I uploaded the first iteration of my Smissmas items.

Page 1 and 2.
Gonna work on LODS tomorrow. Remind me never to do class items again. What a time eater.
@Habboi: I made some changes to the whistle so you're comment was obsolete since it was releated to the older version of the model.
Ok Ty what would I add to the VMT?
