Here's what I've been working on for about a year now: an indie game!
Dead State just announced thursday on Rock, Paper, Shotgun. It's a zombie role playing game (ye olde role playing, turn based and all that) set up by two Troika/Obsidian veterans. All the characters are by me, environments are by our art lead Oscar.
Do I sound excited? I'm excited. 25,000 people just had a look at my zombies on Kotaku, for example.
rooster: looking good , any demo coming soon ?
Slum: tnx
Dado: tnx, composition and shapes looks interesting. I should try muro some time
Arsel: the genearl shapes look good , maybe try to bring some hardness in there for example in the upper lip
Slaught: nice silhouet so far , can't wait to see the rest of her ^^
Zwebbie: always great to see some indy games popup , don't know what it is but the screenshot seems very specularless
I'm attempting to paint an environment, don't really do that much environment stuff so it's good practice
Haha zwebbie nice! I actually commented on RPS when those screenshots came out saying the game looks way, way better than i expected it to visually. Good work dude, saving indie rpgs from ugly programmer art.

So that's what became of ZRPG. I remember reading a mission statement from Brian Mitsoda about his vision for this absolutely ages ago and remember being really excited about the prospect. Great to finally see the idea taking shape.
Anything further you might be able to post would be fantastic.
Vitor: I can see the likeness, but he looks a bit... blobby and wobbly. Like the major shapes aren't very well defined... maybe you subdivided too much too early?
Also are his ears actually that small in reality? Edit: Just looked at some ref pics and... yeah, I guess they pretty much are, heh
Here is an update. After tweaking the diffuse, I did a comparison and couldn't believe how saturated it actually was before. I redid the specular from scratch, thinking about surface definition above all else.

It is specularless, I'm afraid. We've only got two artists (with a couple of props donated), so we decided that we didn't have time to paint specular maps. We're planning on adding specularity to the weapons, but it's just too much work for everything.
Anything further you might be able to post would be fantastic.
The screens on Rock, Paper, Shotgun are all we have at the moment. It was only weeks before that the models even got rigged. I'd show some of the loose parts in clear renders, but I want to save that for a design update for the forums.
Screwing around with some acrylics here. The one on the right is going to be done in oils, probably with a cooler palette.
I'm not super happy with how it's turned out, but I'm going to leave it how it is for now. I've never really painted before, so at least it was a worthwhile experiment.
Papa_Austin i really like that so nice and vibrant! but imo you should like turn off the 1 bit filtering on the grass.. or whatever its called in UDK.. Zwebbie that game looks interesting
Be careful about the scale. If I compare the size of the steps to the train, the scale is way off. Watch out for that. I like where this is going though! Before I read that this was a war-torn tokyo scene, I had the impression that this was located in Japan, well done!.
thanks for the comments very helpful! By the way I am not familiar with this 1 bit "thing" you speak of haha, do you know of any good tutorials on how to fix it?
Prophecies yeah I just placed a UT guy and It looks as If the Train was a little too big compared to the stairs and the other props
messing around with my ipad, i think its a nice little portable sketchbook, using the pogo stylus, not so much like drawing, but a lot like painting, or pastels.
nice duke chaingun millenia. the little stains here and there look nice but overall I think the metal needs different colors like maybe the barrels could be more of a brown color instead of sharing the same hue as the rest of the gun.
Yo pedro im expecting some MUCH more serious material definition in the spec where the paint is worn off. More like the difference between the shiny/bolty part snad the paint. Otherwise it's looking good.
It's almost certainly anodized rather than painted, so any missing paint would be in much finer scratches and only on the highest areas. No flaky paint of any sort.
I'd also expect more paint splotches from previous use than the paint being scratched off.

I love these pants (is it for an sdk?)

???
Had the same thoughts too. Love this character
looks good but i think that your edges are too tight. I think i've seen that concept before, orion right?
ooo...Zombie Invasion!
I'll take a P90, a bag full of mags and a headstart
Might have to retexture it
Hey Pedro,
The texture is looking good, i would try to think more carefully where your putting those metal scratched right now they seem very random.
Also if you don't mind me asking what model viewer is that in? looks nice

it is from this ----> http://pinktentacle.com/images/10/tokyogenso_27_large.jpg
