Now that's one badass stone golem thing. I don't like the big shield though, how would it even lift it? Also it's going to need both hands for the sword and flexibility to swing and all that. A round buckler of some sort would fit its shape language better I think.
I recognize that dragon! Think I saw it while browsing DA. Great to see more of your work. I love your colour work and designs. Definitely what i'm aiming for in my own art.
AimBiZ - Yeah, looking at it again I think I'll do another design pass. There are a lot on inconsistencies in the functionality that I can fix. Thanks for the crit, I really appreciate it!
Sweet substrata stuff. The furries was a surprise but they turned out pretty cool.
Also in the previous one I like your play with complementary colors.
My only crit would be for the latest environment. I suppose the floating rocks are the focal point but it's getting a bit lost by having the strongest light in the scene casting on it while it also generates its own light. Perhaps that one should be put in shadow to increase contrast.
Hm, actually I can't figure out why the rocks are floating so far away while there's a big fine empty space where the sunlight hits, which is also at the left-most third of the image. I'd say make the rocks bigger, closer and frame it a bit with the rest of the architecture to imply its significance, like the place is some kind of shrine or something.
That robo-cloak . I agree with AimBiz's points on the last environment - It feels like there's two, even three points in the scene where my eyes are drawn to, and there's a kind of strange symmetry in the size/shape of the floating rocks and the lighter area in the background.
AimBiZ: Yeah, I totally agree with you. I didn't take the necessary steps to plan this out or even really give it purpose. I changed a lot of things midway through and those floating stones were kind of an after-thought. I appreciate the crit and your points are very accurate. Next time I'll give it some narrative :P
Holy smoke. Great thread. Can't believe how much better you get throughout this thread. latest stuff is soooo good. You must have busted ass over the last 4 years. I know what I need to do with my 2D skills now.
Nice to see more from you again. The new one is pretty sweet. Digging the values on the armor, though overall the value scale is a bit samey over the image, like the ground vs the character. It makes sense from a camouflage point but that's what stood out to me anyway, that and the rifle getting lost a bit for the same reason. Maybe that bright spot in the background would do better placed at the upper half of the character to give more focus on the head. The rim light helps a lot though.
Anyway, nice going as usual. Want to see more.

Like AimBiZ said: definitely one of my favorite pieces you've done.
Keep em' coming!
My favorite of your latest ones
I think I'm starting to figure out what I want from this game world... SUBSTRATA BITCHES!
The Lama - Thanks a bunch
