You're being too indecisive. If you don't stick with something, you aren't going to experience the real events, you aren't going to play with the fun abilities, and you aren't going to wear the cool gear. I'm at level cap and still have a lot to look forward to.
Now it's my turn to whine, I'm still stuck on this level 73 story quest. It's called "Through the Looking Glass" and it's actually one of two options that I'm severely regretting choosing. I feel like I should just report it and wait till next update. :shifty:
My brother, Donald Phan, did most of the sculpt. The hilt of the sword was made by someone else (sorry, I don't recall his name- he started after I left the company). The armor was originally modeled by Darren Chiu. Joe Pikop (the OP of this thread) made the base. Glad you like it!
I got this game the other day, having a bit of a hard time getting into it.. feels a lot like a single player instanced game so far
I struggled to like it at the start too, really wasn't enjoying myself and if I hadn't thrown down £50 for it I'd of probably just stopped there and then. I rolled a different character though, originally Human Thief, I switched to a Norn Guardian and I'm enjoying it so much more.
I'm still not hooked enough to boot it up when I come home from work, but I think that's mainly because it does feel like a solo venture for the time being. I'm hoping to be more involved with guild-based stuff when I reach higher levels and/or fully understand what the fuck I'm doing.
Only just found out about the "Collectibles" bit yesterday, and depositing them out in the world... fucking amazing! I hate that I still get annoying pop-ups about pointless shit, but things that actually matter you have to find out yourself.
I honestly don't think I'm getting the most bang for my buck in terms of visuals, I get a "hardware error" upon starting the game and they want to update me to a beta driver for my graphics card, which I'm uneasy about doing. I'll wait for full release of the next nVidia update, and then see what's cookin'.
Some of the visuals in WvW are absolutely amazing, like seeing the splitting glacier down a valley and stuff is pretty amazing. All the cracked ice shelves.
Don't think this has been posted, armor sets: http://donoftheslum.minus.com/uploads
I dont have the game yet, but this is great to look at for inspiration!

Goddammit, why are there so many websites that have galleries of armor that are completely unlabeled? How are you supposed to find the armor in the game if you don't even know what it's called?

Yeah, it doesnt have all of the weapons either though. At least I haven't been able to find my scepter
Got it at level 13 from killing the lava elemental.
anyone else seen that charr crouching with a giant meat sword(it kinda looks like a huuuge poo on a stick) and when you get close he just exclaims "get away from my meat"? hahahaa
Wow, that's pretty insane, but atleast there's a reason for calling them legendary, as I assume a lot of players will never have one.
redit post it would take approx 80 days of legit grinding. Otherwise you could buy all the mats, and just grind out the unbuyable stuff such as karma, honour points, and skill points.
Few of my friends hit 80 and have decided to go back to Pandaland XO Am gonna be sticking it out with GW tho Anyone on Piken Square wants to run some Explorable's? They're pretty damn tough! I heard its possible to run dungeons with people on other servers, but wasn't sure if that was just bs....
i'm only running mobile broadband until 3rd october (just moved house), but my guild is on Piken Square, we already recruited Fearian and it seems like he's getting on really well!
so definitely talk to him if you're looking for a guild, find out what he thinks of Tainted, and then i'm sure he can put you forward to our recruiters. i'll put in recommendations where needed.
Who's got all the speed buffs then? In WvW, whenever a mob spots me from a long distance no matter how I run they close the gap ridiculously fast.
That's just it, speed boosts come in the form of "buffs" (boons), not traits. Mobs generally just tend to run faster than human characters. There isn't a trait that increases character speed simply by putting points in that I'm aware of.
There are, however, trait perks you can select in certain trait lines for certain classes that give a slight speed boost under certain conditions (a necromancer for example in the blood magic traitline has a perk that gives a percent movement speed increase if you're wielding daggers).
Generally though, movement speed is increased through skills that either give you a passive movement speed increase (like a signet), or a temporary boon.
I meant like a mob of players. I haven't tried a dagger build, but from a combination of traits and signets you can have a 25% passive speed boost. My friends say siphoning is broken though, which seems like a pretty important thing to have as a melee necro.
there's another trait in arcane which gives you a speed boost while using a dagger. you can get like, 75% speed boost as an elementalist, all passive. and then there's the ability boost too lol.
so is there a way to buy a big stack of speed boons to use when you like? My warrior has pretty much no speed related abilities or traits, I can do a kinda lunge with my sword but thats all
You could buy some gems and get yourself some 10%? speed boosts for 1 hour. Although gem/gold exchange rate is pretty expensive right now. My guild mate says it's good when you can buy 300 gems per 1 gold. It's hovering around 270 gems per gold I last checked.
Yeah like said, the mob gets away since alot of ppl getting buffs. Guardians are the slowest class (my warrior was out running him) but has a AOE swiftness boon, When I'm playing ranger I can also give a similar boon using the horn off-hand. Losing the pack, and getting dragged into combat with random mobs you'll never catch up.
With the guardian I can run almost limitlessly now with his boons.
Also, the lvl 30 skill that lets you summon a thorn wolf pet is amazing! That little guy almost doubles my dps, matching my great sword almost hit for hit sometimes.
The armor is expensive though.. the lvl 35 tier 1 armour sold at the major cities is quite expensive, 30-80 silver each piece!

Not a bad Sunday, still working on the last handful of story quests to do, and need to complete the level 60+ dungeon story modes.
Also the sunless dragon world event at level 70 in sparkfly fen is super fun.
I was leveling nearby and heard people talking about it in the map chat

would love to get into the guild though, maybe (god forbid of course) that would open up the experience a bit!

They should have gone either full awesome or full simple.

it's a very world vs world focused guild FYI.
well I guess you can transmute new stats to the weapon model
I thought War's got speed boons later on? Maybe wrong here, playing an engi :-S
