Do you guys think one will be banned if, lets say, he finds a couple of rich copper veins near each other, surrounded by more copper of course, mine it in the overflow he's currently in, then log out and go into another overflow, thus resulting the veins to be reset.
If it sounds like you are exploiting the system, which this does, it's wise to just not do it. This could potentially get you banned for sure if you try it and it ends up actually working.
Quick question, does your queue for World vs. World progress while you're doing sPvP?
I got into the queue and started running sPvP games. But I played for over an hour and the queue never popped. I thought maybe it doesn't progress while you're in the mists.
Only problem is the gigantic queues, on the average server (basicly every server except for the low population ones), you can count on about 2-6hours of being in queue.
Reason, only 500 players allowed in there per team
(and a lot of people use WvWvW for non pvp-purposes such as farming certain mobs there, or certain quests for glory (see the dolyak escort quest thing).
So they are in there for hours.
Well that actually worked until the recent update, to be honest I hardly have time to play, and when I do, I'm not gonna sit there and mine, log out, mine, log out... Huge world to explore.
Just something I found, I reported it today using the bug tracker option anyway, I'm sure those guys are already aware of it.
Tried my first Dungeon yesterday, AC. I had a really good time but it felt like I wasn't much help being a Thief. I do fine in regular PvE but in dungeons I get the feeling like condition damage is not really a good option.
up to lvl 60 on the personal story, liking it so far, although I feel it could be stronger. One of my nitpicks is the voice acting paragraphs? Are stung back to back where I feel there should be a pause to take a breath and think for a moment, rather than a bunch of audio tracks on a playlist.

Do you guys feel like this as well?
condition damage is great because it cuts through toughness and armour, but it always deals a flat amount of damage as a result.
and at level 30, you don't have enough +condition damage for it to be truly nasty, it does get better though.
Hit 80 yday, good feeling Was a bit curious as to why my xp bar was still 'leveling' while being at cap, although people told me its for getting those extra skill points (even though I have only 1 or 2 abilities left to buy.) The AC explorable missions seem really tough, you need a well coordinated group and I can only imagine how much harder it gets in the later dungeons.
Engineer is a blast (excuse the pun) and highly recommended for anyone that wants to blow the shite out of anything standing in their way.
Anyone know much about legendary items? I've heard mixed info about them, like how you can buy them from vendors in Orr, also a vendor in the cities sells them, to needing 200 skill points to wear them, etc? Not sure if this is crap or not but any info would be appreciated Awesome game so far!
Personally I started exploring when the personal story quests got ahead of me, trying to get the waypoints, getting all the heart quests to show on the map so I can get to them easier later. And ofcourse all the other exploration things, every now and then you'll stumble upon an event aswell.
As for the multiple skills on the same hotkey, they're sort of secondary skills for the actual skill. For example, as a sword mesmer I have a skill that sends an illusion leaping for the target and crippling it, using the skill again within a certain time let's me change position with the illusion and immobilizing the enemy.
-Doing the personal story quest usually fill up your XP bar by 1/3.
-Also doing your dailies will give you a boost.
-And if your having problems finding good items, doing 100% map completing will usually get you 2 rares, if not exotics (I have gotten 4 exotics so far doing 2 lvl 60-70 area completions)
-If there is a event nearby, take part. having mob groups will make for easy quick XP for the moment.
as for gear, I used to linger on gear that was 15 lvls below my current lvl. I found that crafting your gear is actually worth it. IE a lvl 20 craft would have the same stats as a lvl 22-24 lvl random drop of the same quality.
Oh and to add to crafting, if you have a Crafting Boost item and a bunch of mats, go nuts! I lvled twice in an hour, I started out with something like 20 craft points and ended up with lvl 200+ crafting
Anyone know how to beat theifs in pvp as a warrior? Everytime I pop something that does alot of damage they just go into stealth, and they just interrupt my heals. It seems like I have nothing to combat it
One event away from completing my dailies last night and all of the events and hearts broke. Idk if this happens on other servers, but sometimes high level areas "break" and the events show as active but they never progress while hearts will list all the things you can do to help but usually only one option can be done. Example:
- Spar with soldiers
- Help with maintenance
- Pick up tools
but you'll look around to find that there are no tools to pick up or maintenance to be done.

After level 80, every new level you get, you get a skillpoint, you can then uses skillpoints as currency for some NPC weapons/armors
From my understanding you can get legendary items either from drops or by combining exotic weapons in the mystic forge in Lions Arch
Can anyone suggest ways to level up a bit quicker because I'm getting way too far ahead of myself in the story quest. I've currently got a recommended level 12 quest which just batters me. Unfortunately my buddies and I only seem to be able to coordinate game time at random and oftentimes I end up playing solo.
You dont need to do your personal story quests right away, level up a bit or invite a random to help you if you're having difficulties
I've been trying the heart quests but they sometimes take forever and give barely any xp.
try to do events while doing heart quests, also stick around for a bit after events, there are several chains to them even at lower levels (Spiders attacking the apple farm--> Giant spider is pissed--> Escort Man carrying his wife who was attacked by the spiders to a new area ->Bandit raid in new area)
And what's with the multiple skills on the same hotkey? Like I have two or three skills show up when I mouse over one of the skill buttons but it doesn't explain why?
Theyre are abilities that either turn the ability off or give you an alternate ability (IE: Guardian's torch 4 can set himself on fire, but you can press 4 again to throw the fire). Or they chain together (most autoattacks on weapons)
I must admit, this game has made me feel very stupid. I'm not the biggest MMO player ever, but I spent a fair bit of time with WoW, Aion and Rift, yet GW2 has left me feeling completely lost multiple times.
Explore new areas! The purple swirly thing on the map will take you to lions arch and you can go to any other race's area from there!
Craft! Every 40 crafting levels = 1 level no matter what your level!
Just try to have fun with it, listen to what npcs say as they can alert you to new events, also gather materials.
Pure grinding is probably the slowest way to level in the game, also its typically 1hour-90min per level on average.
One more thing; gear. This may be just a misconception I've gotten from playing WoW where you get a new piece of armour almost after every quest, but I don't seem to be getting much in the way of new gear?
Should I buy it from vendors, or is it best to just wait for quest rewards?
Buy it from venders if you think you really need the upgrade, dont wait for quest rewards, you will typically find items via drop most of the time. Also check out the trading post, people are selling commonly droped (but really good) weapons/armors for dirt cheap!
so with the first rush of "getting to 80, grinding legendary mats and realizing that they expanded the recipe drastically" gone...
has anyone started that polycount guild yet?

Yeah great question, I want in.
If there's not one already I can put one together tonight if you guys want.

Ok I'm clearly not doing this right, I've been playing for a week, probably an hour or two a day and I'm level 10...
I had the same issue, most of all I recommend just doing all the heart quests in your starting area just cause they should be fairly quick and easy to finish and give you a nice boost. Then I found that exploring and finding new heart quests, like guarding a merchant or fighting some mini boss got lots of xp. Just join in when you see a crowd running after a quest haha
Haha, I thought the first giant undead dragon I saw was Zhaitan. Pretty impressed when an NPC identified it as just a plaguebringer lacky. Even more impressed by that glimpse of him.
I'm not sure if any level designer or any artist will see this post. I just want to congratulate their art and their amazing level design. With all the amount of secrets, paths, and all the work they had to do, I'm really impressed on how they achieved the amount of terrain content with such nice quality and smooth graphics and also with such nice gameplay features as vistas and secrets. Top notch work guys!
Alright, I made a polycount guild if people want to play together. post your ID's or character names and I'll invite you, maybe we can do some dungeons and stuff!

Just play the game normally?
I got into the queue and started running sPvP games. But I played for over an hour and the queue never popped. I thought maybe it doesn't progress while you're in the mists.

I wonder what the meeting was like that decided that this would sell the game.
Yeah great question, I want in.

I'm just going to pretend that didn't happen. :shifty:
Marketing at it's finest. Totally out of touch with their audience ... as usual. I really dislike marketing teams for the most part.

That being said, that's the first time I've seen Zhaitan depicted in-game, and that was pretty sweet.
name : divii
._. someone stole my less-sucky name!
Let's get it on.
My guild of workmates has 5 people haha I really need to be part of a bigger guild
EDIT: Either I'm oblivious or this UI is a little wonky. :poly136:
