i liked the character design. its a lot more.. characterized than other games, with their generic bulky marines.
although i fear the game might play a lot like an elongated tech demo.
I can't wait for this, gonna be awesome. But the art style definitely looks like the lovechild of Borderlands and Fallout 3. Not that I'm complaining, I can't get enough of that stuff.
It looks just like any up-to-date engine right now, but I like the saturated colours and what not. The interiors are definitely handled well.
Characters are meh, but then I haven't seen one engine where the characters would look appealing. Actually, looking at them again they are not that bad but the eyes are dead. In L4D2 the eyes are great, they look alive, as much as videogame characters can be alive. Maybe it's just the lighting, I dunno.

Uncharted 2's characters looked amazing in engine, eyes were a little shiny in some cases but overall awesome.
these shots look pretty awesome, like you said its the saturated colors and nice contrast making everythign pop and look gorgeous. I really dig the design of things too it looks really interesting.
Also they finally released some actual screenshots that don't look like beauty renders... I have to say, the texture resolution has dropped a great deal... Damn consoles... Hope the PC version doesn't suffer. For example:

Looks like there's roughly 3-4 pixels per game inch which is pretty standard (4:1) The character has a shit ton more res. pixel density stuff like that is always going to stick out like a sore thumb.
Its shocking that many games have started production, ended, and came out before this. In fact, Star Wars Force Unleashed, an AMAZING game, started production, finished, released... Now the second one has started production and is out in October... TWO games in the time its taken id to make one... Fallout 3 started, finished, and now New Vegas will be out BEFORE Rage...
The game better be twice the size/length of Fallout 3, at least...
odium: I think id probably kept a smaller team this whole time. Seems like they only really started hiring people and keeping larger teams, what? A year ago? Not to mention zenimax owns id now I believe, and fallout new vegas is under their umbrella. Probably don't want them to compete.
Think that last screen shot could have used a bit more density in objects.. but it's still pretty. I really want to work with this engine
Looks gorgeous, but the first review I read made it sound like a Borderlands / Fallout playoff with nothing of any major interest making it worth getting worked up about. Also, an early interview with the devs made it sound like what could potentially be the best area to play in, the open roads between towns, was intentionally going to be short.
Anything id has an instant 'want like a puppy dog panting for water' from me.
Hopefully they'll use the extra time well.
I'm interested to see what they'll come up for multiplayer for this.
Though the main attraction is obviously the singleplayer experience regardless.
Looks great Spark. The sense of distance and depth you guys have got in the outdoor scenes is amazing. Character work is top-notch as well, of course ; I'm a sucker for anything that wears a tire for armour.

Also, is it me or is the sky very low res in this shot:

It could be JPEG compression artifacts, but it looks like the sky is pretty low res.

QFT! I plan on playing this on my PS3...I believe he played the demo at Quakecon with an Xbox 360 controller as well?

Its nice to finally see some "real" in game screen shots.

Its all about the gestalt
Also anyone else thinks she looks crosseyed?
EDIT: it could be that the rough looking legs are deliberate, since it's a postapoc world after all.
(looks good)
