Just saw the teaser on gametrailers. The concept art is awesome and the story seems really interesting ! I can't wait to see some in-game footages I'm 100% sure it will be as polished as usual with SD.
The movement of the eye and skin around it is amazing - really, really lifellike. The subtle stretches and sliding of the skin really helps to sell it better than the rigid, robotic feel you normally see in faces in cinematics.
To clarify before i get marked as a bitch
I just meant that it stood out to me when all the rest was so good. Either way i bet it will be gorgeous and I probably will play it. I´ve played all splashdamage and bethesda games soooo.
Eyebrow - check, Upper eyelash - check, Lower eyelash - painted on.
I don´t really care to be honest. It´s eyelashes.
That lower lash doesn't look painted on... They nailed the watery track around the lower lid along with the sliding skin. There is something strangely pronounced about the bridge of the nose? Considering the attention to detail everywhere else I lean toward it being part of the character.
my question is the eyebrows, they're realism is quite detailed. Would anyone know a good way to make those pop on a character? or am i totally wrong and there all just painted?
The storyline sounds a bit like a pre apocalyptic Fallout - The Arc being the vaults, "salvation for some but not for all" and whatnot. Not to suggest that this is some prequel, just that they sound like they're coming from a similar standpoint.
Any comment Splash gamage guys? You know you can trust us.
Can I ask, why is everyone getting so excited about a pre-rendered animation? I mean yes, its a technical feat, but its not like its not been done before (quick example: Beowolf). Now, if that was real time in game.. that would be something.
all i could think is that the eye looked far too blue.
there's usually some yellow and brown in there as well.
and the reflections for some reason made it look very plastic.
IMHO, SD haven't really gotten the game down, as far as MP is. Maybe SP will be more suited to them but W:ET was a step in the wrong direction over RtCW for me, and ET:QW was just... Meh...?
the eyelashes on the bottom lid arent painted, you can see them moving against the skin slightly. what made them stand out was how super thick the top eyelashes were. the upper side of the nose does seem a bit weird too. the blood looked really good though!
so who developed? SD and bethesda? or is bethesda just publishing it?
EDIT: HAAAH. so thats what the splash damage art test was for. hahaha. cool.
seems like the ultra rich and powerful get to live inside this guarded mini city while everyone outside lives through the apocalypse. and you have to somehow find your way in against all odds (city 17 style)

I can kind of understand if it wasn't your cup of tea, but wrong direction?
Wasn't RtCW vanilla WW2 multiplayer? Didn't RtCW:ET add classes like medics, covert ops, engineers, destructible objectives along with cap and defend? All pretty standard now but for the time it was pretty new, especially when comparing it to RtCW.
I'm struggling to remember if there were different classes in the multiplayer RTCW, but there was definitely objectives to be completed. ET expanded on them signifcantly, but they weren't so different.
W:ET was great fun, and it was very well received.
I myself played Tribes/Tribes2 for years and very much remember when W:ET came about as tribes was on another decline and the community loved how well the team aspect had been done in ET as tribes was very much a team/class(self made-ish) game.
If I remember right there were 2 tribes guys with SD then too, Wils & Mars(Marauder), to add some teamplay lovin' to the game.
Those screens look great, MoP! I love the subtle stylisation on the characters. Reminds a bit of some of Salaryman's stuff from a few years back - very, very cool! I'm looking forward to seeing it in motion.
Cheers! Unfortunately I can't lay claim to much shown here, since I'm doing technical art on this project - skin weighting, texture and topology tweaks is about as close as I'd come ... also doing a lot of setup for getting things working in game, and back-end animation / character pipeline work ... nothing really portfolio-worthy yet!
wow, I absolutely love the art style, it's so vibrant. defo keep an eye on this.
love the sound of this game feature, could really own if given enough choices to use it
Groundbreaking Kinesthetics
BRINK uses the familiar shooter controls that you’re used to, without frustrating, artificial constraints and takes advantage of a new feature: the SMART button. When you press the SMART button, the game dynamically evaluates where you're trying to get to, and makes it happen. No need to perfectly time a jump or vault, the game knows what you want to do.
The saturated colours and stylised characters work really well together. Mr Appleby's trademark tyre acroutrements making an appearance there aswell I see!
Any need for any more character artists in the near future?!

its nice, the characters proportions are strange, yet not bad, awkwards but really not in a bad way, just unusual then the normal prportionchanges we see in games these days, good job guys

Cool concept. I'm betting art direction will be the tops
it might not be an inexplicable sequel to The Dig, but I'm still excited for anything SD. : )
Looking forward to it!

So is it?
But it is great to see a trailer without big bold but cliche words fading into black and a voice over that sounds like Don Fontaine.

but im looking forward to more information whatever SD does its gotta be dope!

hope to see more of this in the not so distant future.

However, that's not to say RTCW MP was bad!
Brink looks very interesting. Especially from that concept shot.
