You Polycount guys always have to make this stuff look so easy. Some really crazy work coming out of this side. I enjoy the lurk so keep it up guys, Beer and chips and polycount lurking all in a good days work.

Thanks for the compliment, I did a few bake tests and reunwraped Bobo's model im not the greatest of unwrapers thou as far as characters go im just a mere enviroment guy.
The real loss of detail goes to the shoulders but those aren finished yet and i plan on using some of the 500 tris on supporting edges. As far as the general I plan on tweaking that area more and making him more the focal point.
JFletcher: I am a fan im diging the color scheme your working with there are you using max for the previews? If so on your normal bump you should increase the value to a 2.0 for strength it will give you more depth.

Haven't had so much time to continue working on mine (stupid work...), here's some progress though. Coming close to being done with the sculpt (I feel like I could still work days on it, but then I'd never finish on time I'm afraid), still hesitating about his accessories, he's got the beret, and I started making some big mean-looking knife that would hook onto his torso-belt, but not so sure...
I also started throwing some colours around in zbrush, but color scheme isn't final at all, as it seems from the contest rules that it needs to be fairly close to the forum colours... Always had trouble working with green, will see how that turns out...
Hey guys heres where my sculpt is currently at, I'm just using the eye peice as a reference for now, its going to be modeled and sculpted tonight. I've still got to decide how i'm going to do his jacket/shirt/armor whatever and I've got to decide where to put our logo

Had a sweet mental block last night, but I managed to bust out a few things during my lunch break today. Not entirely happy with what I did, but it did give me ideas for when I get home tonight. Will hopefully be making a start on the body.
Sweet mini comp, here's my first stab at it, got about an hours worth of sculpting into it last night after work. Will probably do a few more of these before I settle on a design.
this isn't exactly a proper update, but since someone was wondering how I was going to do mine, it basically comes down to chopping the mesh we got into pieces, making hard shapes out of them that are easily baked down, and then making that holo face separately.
Update on the highpoly-thingy. Have already baked out and started texturing some parts. Too bad the meshflow for this lowpoly is not really good for a generic model, like Bobo's basemesh. Hopefully that wont be too much of an issue. Gonna take him into Zbrush today when Im finished with the basemesh and knock him around a bit :P
Hey Snefer, I was going to do a gasmask thingy with that basemesh too but i gave up on it since I'm still new to the process. Yours looks kick ass though!
Im so not a good zbrush user. Oh well. Still playing with bigger shapes and some basic addons. Not entirely sure what i should do with his damn mouth yet. Next post will be finished High poly, i promises.
