^^^! Ive been listening to that station for the last 3 days
Something calming and awesome is ALWAYS playing when a program crashes i don't even care i feel to relaxed to rage
Kinovea is an open source (GPL-licensed) video tool to help analyze motion. It lets you load up a video file and adjust playback speed for slow/fast motion, frame-by-frame advance, do overlays of timers, draw lines on the image, angle indicators, perspective grids, do split-screen comparisons, etc.
Don't know if this has already been mentioned but man, check this out http://www.splashtop.com/
Lets you control your computer from anywhere in real time, with sound, everything. I love this program. I was actually working on an aftereffects project from my crappy laptop and tricked people into thinking it was some sort of superbeast (the real superbeast lives at home) And I managed to fly a jet around in battlefield 3. Until some ass shot me down.
Nice! I used youtube playlists in the past It's really nice to find new music.
You guys eat your heart out. http://www.filtermusic.net/ a crap ton of good audio streams. Most with a bit of ads here and there but not much of it.
You could also download http://www.spotify.com/ and use its 'radio' - it generates a random playlist of music similar to a song you specify. It's free+ads or 4.99 a month.
I use it to sync some maxscripts, to transfer larger files and to share some Unity project stuff.
How does Unity handle this when having a project open with 2 people at once? Me and a friend tried a project with Dropbox, but Unity automatically saves files or something - long story short, I opened the scene on my end, and my friend's Unity crashed and lost a bunch of files/progress.

Yeah, you definitely shouldn't be working on a collaborative Unity project directly in Dropbox. Remember that Dropbox will immediately (or close enough to it) sync files across a shared folder, so you're guaranteed to lose work or get corrupted data if you're both working on the project simultaneously.
If you don't have pro (ie, access to source control), keep the shared dropbox folder as your repository, so to speak, and not the direct working copy. Keep a local copy of the project, and update the dropbox folder with assets that have changed.
I'm using this right now to collaborate on a Unity project. It actually does a pretty good job. Slight learning curve with the UI, and I always seem to screw up versions and what not, but it's pretty forgiving.
The only thing I noticed is that it doesn't always merge scenes 100% correctly (sometimes a missing actor or two). No biggie. Beats drop box.
Pretty sure you'll need Mercurial too. Not sure, I didn't set it up.
Great website that compiles random website, images, videos, gifs, you name it. Perfect for inspiration or perspective. The Android phone and tablet apps work great as well. I use it every day on my Xoom2.
Appwise komodo edit, for music I use shoutcast Google add on for chrome.. For anatomy on Android I use real body works they have two apps in the playstore. There's a free version of ace project on Google Chrome which allows you to clock your productivity.. Stay focused is awesome to block out Facebook, twitter, etc.
anyone know a reference image viewer that not only clips your reference image on top of your main work application window but saves all the reference images you opened in a session, and then you can at any time reload all those images again by simply opening up the saved session. Pretty much like a playlist in winamp or itunes of your mix songs.
One tool that i love is QTTabBar it allows you to have tabs in the windows explorer as well as tons of other things. Couldn't live without it its such a time saver! Give it a try its free.
And another one which might be already posted is SageThumbs a windows thumbnail viewer who supports a wide range of file formats. No doubt its a must have! And its free.
Hi all, first post here! (Been lurking for a while and haven't got any art good enough to post yet -_- )
Anyway, as an alternative to Notepad++ I've started using Sublime Text for coding and general text editing. Has some nice features like multi-line editing, 'distraction free mode' and is pretty much entirely customisable.
An unlimited length 'evaluation' copy is available to download.

This website is made for web designers in mind but all of the patterns are seamless and most of them are in grayscale, making them good to use for textures. These are all free and they are adding more all the time. Here is their github link to download them all with a photoshop .pat file included https://github.com/subtlepatterns/SubtlePatterns/zipball/master
Here are some great search tips by one of Google's own research scientists. They work great for finding obscure technical info or tutorials on the web or even here on Polycount itself.
One more goody that i've found years ago is AjaXplorer its a powerful open-source file-management system for your webserver. I spare you guys the features and details, just head over to site and test the online demo. You will see its a pretty neat piece of software. Oh and its free

Here's a nice little tool that captures your screen straight to GIF: http://www.landoleet.org/licecap/
Very straightforward, you just set the area to capture as well as the framerate and you're good to go.
TACTIC is a highly flexible web-based production asset management system that cures the headache of complex digital content creation. By combining digital asset management with data and project management, TACTIC keeps your files secure, your team on track and your projects on schedule as you create more and more digital content.
Oh yeah, Paint Tool Sai is awesome, though I'd categorize it more as a concept, illustration, or painting app rather than as a Photoshop substitute. Unless of course you do a lot of hand painted textures, as I know you do.
Speaking of painting apps like Paint Tool Sai there's also:
One great place to watch for new painting apps is the Chrome Web Store. It seems like there are new ones popping up there all the time.
Another great utility to add to these programs is Lazy Nezumi which can add a ZBrush like lazy mouse function to pretty much any app. I've even used it in Mudbox. There's about it here. Sadly it's Windows only though.

Why is there a Tag for Blonde and Brunette which is bigger and...oh...oh...Oooooh...
So erm, yeah, let me get productive....
a web based normal map generator:
http://www.smart-page.net/smartnormal/
Huh, that's interesting. I'll probably stick with NDO2, but I never imaged seeing an online normal map maker. Why do people still buy CrazyBump?
Does anyone else have problems using this with Max?
No way i was task switching for 6 minutes, more like 30 seconds total if that, so it seems to be picking up bits of other programs as that.
Same with detach, had that window up for maybe 10 seconds. ivy2.max should probably have been 15-20 mins
Seems to be missing 8% of the time..
Any clues?

A nice Opensource alternative to Dropbox or Google Drive (yes, you can install it on you own server, and they have a client for windows too)
This literally saved my lost soul. Thank you!
(imo) Looks better, runs smoother, Opens faster than Adobe Reader and works better with a table when scrolling. Also has one better viewing option

Almost everything I tried has crash written all over it, my last hope is GIMP it seems, with a plugin, but I just want to make sure before I DL it.
OK, I'm an idiot PS and GIMP both have Video Editing options built in, no plugins required.
