Probably you already heard about this software, especially under Linux, the official website provides only the 1.0 version for Windows, released in 2011. This is the latest version, February 17 2015.
Dilay is a 3D sculpting application that provides an intuitive workflow using a number of powerful modeling tools. As each tool locally subdivides the mesh where more details are required, Dilay allows artists to rapidly create complex meshes.
I haven't tried it at all yet. Download available for Windows, build from source for Linux.
I found cool software which could be a good FREE alternative for Marmoset Toolbag 2 - after searching google i don't think it was mentioned before here on Polycount. Still in development, but at this moment it works great. It would be great to have refresh button for textures.
this is a cross-post about a small Notepad++ Plugin which increased my workflow with working with XML-Asset-Libraries dramatically! I hope you'll find it as useful as I do.
May have finally found my alternative to Chrome, check out Vivaldi if you haven't already. Clean interface, quick, can use chrome extensions.
Sweet. Loving it. Takes up half the RAM Chrome does, has crtl+z, doesn't seem to be freezing yet (unlike google chrome), the dynamic site theme to UI coloring (often) looks great and has this sweet thingy:
Since he hosts that locally there is a chance it could be out of date. If you want to make sure you always have the updated version just download it from my Gumroad. Whenever I update it with fixes/new stuff I send out an email. https://gumroad.com/l/nickstools

I really love such niche software, but I would love some opinions before getting it. Thanks in advance
You're thinking something like a repository? So gitup/perforce/sourcetree stuff? I think perforce is for models
It's pretty straight forward and fun. Here's a little piece I did last year
Not saying I've done this personally, but it looks like you could use something like these:
https://github.com/thomasfl/filewatcher
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18632/how-to-monitor-a-text-file-in-realtime
http://serverfault.com/questions/1669/shell-command-to-monitor-changes-in-a-file-whats-it-called-again
With SSH or equivalent.
I guess it depends on what kind of files you're watching and what OSes you're dealing with. That Ruby one "filewatcher" looks pretty robust.

Cadtouch - ARCHBOX new library of 3d-2d models
https://archbox.cadtouch.com
this new library will work with the new cadtouch application for pc and tablets. 3d viewer and editor. it has already (its beta) some unreal 4 assets.

Great for getting a rough base mesh to work with (same procedure as http://www.thomasbaron.net/2011/05/modeling-without-blueprints-from-pictures/ but much easier to work with than insight3d)
