nice work nkoste. excellent start cep. qubism .. *bows* it turned out gorgous - i love color scheme, i learn something new every time i stare into your flats, thanks for posting.
mr_Rockstar, nice work all round, good work.
nice job everyone.
Right back at you killingpeople. Your ideas and your talent amazes me. That goes for many other posters in the thread, but yours are the only contributions that both shocks and inspires me. @Badname your use of photos really works. I really like it when you can pull photoskinning off.
I'll find time to do another head later...
Kinda happy with it...it was a nice skin practice, and I learned some stuff. Found it a lot easier to paint in color than greyscale...and also to paint everything of the same material relatively at once.
here is a new head to play with if you guys are interested.
only problem is... someone has to unwrap it, or i will do it badly if someone promises to skin it!

I'd have a go at unwrapping it. I use Max 5 so any other max above that, or maya, send as some other format I can load
:O, very nice smo, though the nose looks like its bunched up, and she dosnt have a pupil ;O, but you probably did that on purpose? Dane your gal looks burnt :O. *sigh* if only i had good skinning skills ;O.
some details need more work, especially the back where distortions are much more visible, and 'ears' where we can see it's wrong in front view. I tried to continue in the celtic-knot-ornaments-like design, like the q3 character (for those who saw it). I began the work with 512*512 but quickly lowered it to work in final resolution. Not really a speed because it took me several hours, but I need time to understand how things work
ryan/thnom: thats a fun head! heh heres mine, a kind of cartoony lumberjack/rabbi person... the unwrap overall is pretty good, athough I did a few minor tweaks to the uvs, mainly just specific for this skin to round out the jaw and the cap. cheers
Well this looked like such an interesting mix of works I thought I would do up a skin for shimmers SDK, Will probably take a crack at a couple more here shortly since it was fun to do. 2x256's.

I might finish this, or maybe just try to do some more of these.
still have to work more on the helmet. I used fotos for the face, but going to try and paint them too :P
An Alien movie-like character. Perhaps the biggest resemblance is the female pilot of the second movie, but I haven't used any particular reference.
I've been getting a lot out of this thread so thanks for all the SDKs. They've really proven useful.

the green is supposed to be some sort of cloth like fatman's blast suit from MGS2

Hopefully I'll have time to contribute a model too.

Poop-I'm glad you like it, once things settle down at home, I'm gonna do another one.
Brice Vandemoortele: je kif vraiment ta texture elle est tres bien faite! meme si une petite desaturation serait utile
Well thats why they pay you the big bucks! ;D
Great work all around guys, I'll hopefully find time to do one myself.
My attempt... about an hour. More to come. Crits would be much appreciated
Still got a lot to do on this, eyes and hair in particular (boy do I suck at hair).
Superb standard of work here, very inspiring thread.
I'm gonna do the fat man next or maybe the dude with the hood, or maybe... so much good stuff, its hard to choose
