awesome russian site about early space exploration. I have no idea what the text says but it has lots of diagrams and cool drawings of 1950's space gear!
Something I've been doing recently for human face reference is using Google Image Search's new "Extra Large Images" filter (in the dropdown menu below the search field) and just typing a random person's name - Andrew, Robert, Laura, whatever.
I noticed that a lot of corporations and schools/universities tend to have photos of their presidents/staff, and since they're not hugely web-savvy they just upload raw images from a digital camera and resize them in HTML. This means that you can quite easily find a huge amount of very high-res photos of very interesting characters

a site with some ortho views (black and white, small) of heads, and the different types of races and skulls. quite a lot of text to scroll through though.
Mountain photography with summit shots and various elevations. Great for reference or backgrounds.
Select either areas and ranges or mountains then pick a region from the search at the top and then pick an image. Images are grouped at the bottom of the next page.
MoP, ha ha you nicked my idea:) I started off with class graduation photos and moved on to company presidents. They always have huge pics.
I started off typing stuff like 'class of 96' ,
'CEO' or 'bob smith'
Another idea is to look for lists of famous actors and then google search each one for large or extra large pics.
I was wondering if anyone have matching male skeletal references, I find lots of images on parts of bones and other artwork, but none that really match the front to side view.
I am having trouble understanding the real shape of the bones when i try to make them, since i dont have anything to see and touch it's really hard to understand.
HEx, find a science museum or medical school in your area, usually they have an articulated plastic skeleton that you can examine up close, and move the joints around.
You have to register an email address, it only runs in Windows using Internet Explorer, Flash, and the Anark player, and it's only online. Ouch.
But it's free, and totally worth the effort. Anatomically accurate real-time 3D skeleton plus muscles, organs, etc. Click on any muscle/bone/etc. to see the name, hide it or make it transparent.

Anatomy textbook from 1905: one of the illustrators was phenomenal, but plates by other artists are less exciting.

I'm thinking of vectorising these by hand, or just making some photoshop patterns from them. Great stuff for arabic themes!

Worst case, download a skeleton model and examine in your 3d software. Beware though, proportions can be really off on a free model.
