I'm working on a realistic interpretation of the Scout in TF2. I was going for the body of a lean special ops soldier. The design right now is a bit plain versus the TF2 one but I plan on giving a very quirky and unconventional outfit that will hopefully distinguish him from a vanilla military dude.
@ adamlewis
Very cool but the face looks old and because of that he seems not very fast. It wouldnt really fit to your style to make the skin smoother but i would reduce the skin hanging above his eyes and his head/forehead less big.
Thanks Davision. I wanted to make him a bit more mature looking, but I agree he was too old for the character I was trying to portray. I've dialed back his age a bit and did some early work on the outfit.

Mr.T> your gun made me produce copious amounts of LULZ but the chihuahua doesn't look right to me, he needs bigger ears.

You are totally right, unfortunately it's a little bit
late for me to make changes
Seems the ears normaly come out from the side of the head
I made them too much ontop, that'll be a lesson to watch
more references before modeling and texturing
Well exams just end today woot!!... now trying to back on shape to start working as soon as I get another job
Meanwhile I'm building a new portfolio, new website, probably new domain, and only new works... will take a while but anything is better then the current crap.
#1 is a random goblin from a random fantasy MMORPG:
Ho-lee, Mr. Smith, that is awestriking to behold. For sale?
Intergalactic swashbuckling adventurer named John Cosmos. He needs a head. This isn't the low poly, it's the base for sculpting, blocking in shapes and a few basic colours. Started out using Arsh's baseman, as you can see.
Well.. I started doing a sculpt of a lich's hood using my skull as the head and it kinda got out of control and my creativity took over and voila... the bizzare hood. Going to keep working on it and caress the folds, and ya he does still need a body but i'm having a blast with it so far. I'll post updates as they're available
Cheers.
ggmd, I'm in love with that building man. It looks very Assassin's Creed and thats been my game of choice these days so I'm excited to see where you're going with that. I love the detail work on the mesh. I'd kill to know a bit about your workflow and to peep some of those textures. Amazing stuff.
been texturing in zbrush again using the colorize function.
Its a good base for a bake then I will later add photo overlays in pshop.Actually I am getting the hang of hand painting in zbrush, it pretty cool . I only use the standard and smooth brushes. I gave up on zapplink, too much of a hassle
Sean McBride - thats a good start man
Helixx - thats just creepy, but well done
cheers roster, yeah the little finger is bent away from camera. still go to fix the pose of the hand.
TBH I don't know why I have spent so much time on this. could have made ten proper characters in the same time:)

not so much lol. But I was just playin. its actually a pretty sweet model, but if you want his face to look abit younger you can smooth out the indents you have near the cheekbone area and possibly redesign the facial hair to not look so natural.
too many cool things in this thread, missed out on a whole lot of awesome stuff since last week
some favourites -
whiteblaizer - really cool scene, great materials
bones - wow! superb character!
ruz - great basemesh
b1lllll - that's a super cool design, more face!
thanks for the hello's and feedback
doc_rob - cheers for the crit! i'm going to scrape off all of the nozzle interfaces from his front and make them less symmetrical. He'll also have a couple of hanging airpipes that plug in to a little sidekick carbon scrubbing robot.
redid his hands from scratch, bit flat across the knuckles and wrinkles are kind of inconsistent and messing up the form in places and diffuse is wipwip but the main shapes are about there..
