Dude, cheap, that's looking sweet.
RobG! Man You are kicking some ass! do you have these animated and in gamemaker like you did the mech? It was really cool just to see that thing moving around. Hurry up and make a game already!
RobG you are awesome not because my name is RobG as well, and not just because your work is so so so sweet, but because this guy http://blujarr.com/bb/downloads/33.gif almost was walking in beat with Joey as I was looking through your site. More awesome stuff as always.
@achmedthesnake: That is looking awesome. The skin texture is a bit bland though, and has too much specular on it. I think if you added just a little bit of a noise overlay on your normal map, and tweaked your spec levels, you'd get a much better result.
And to make the lion on his armor pop in the profile, you can add a couple polygons in that area. Doing that shouldn't mess up you're uv's, no matter what program you're using.
First time I show my work here. This one uses 680 triangles, 1 1024x512 map and one small 32x32 map for the grates in the windows. I have a few holes in my uvw and I will split some surfaces later and remove some of the repetive patterns. But it needs more dirt and tags first. Thats the plan...
Looks pretty good jimmy, and welcome to polycount! Looking forward to seeing you add more dirt to that thing because it definitely needs it, keep us posted.

Nice! Looks like it could be straight out of the game i'm working on right now.

Oh shit, I didn't realise that. The upper arms and back of the neck is almost 100% spot on of this guy. It's completely unintentional, but I can't help feeling like some dirty plagiarist..
RobG is leading the way! Don't stray from what you like to do. Always be creative and express your art in your own unique style.
I wish more illustrators would make the switch to 3d. RobG's stuff is just a tiny, tiny taste of what these guys could do with 3d. I LOVE IT. It's so refreshing to see.
A bust I just started work on tonight. I'm thinking I'll turn him into a full character, but I could use some help. It's hard to capture the essence of a vampire without showing his eyes or fangs. Comments or criticisms are greatly appreciated.
The rocks need some character, some big hard edges, they are
too round.
Great work Renaud, where is his sixpack?
@ jgarland
Maybe he needs some big tear sacs and bigger folds around the mouth.
@ Spug
I hope you dont mind that im bombarding you with crits
-lower the chest
-make the upper arms longer
-make the upper legs a bit shorter
-the fingers longer and the thumbs bigger
-the ass looks very nipped
Its a good base, keep going.
One of the multiple models i'm making lately... with a cavity map shader similar to Zbrush's one, rendered in Modo. Ignore the face, it's not finished hehehe.
Id try making more of a distinct break between the shell parts and the skin parts. Looks a bit odd rite now in the shoulder area because if goes from the hard looking parts to the soft.

@East - Dig the design!
Got back to work on this lil' bastard...
A sort of high techish ninjaish guyish creation I'm working on. Sculpt in ZBrush 3.1, using a slightly modified Arshlevon Baseman basemesh.

I really like this guy, but you would get +10 awesome points if you give him a mouth can that can open super wide filled with pointy teeth.
Awesome work RobG, would you mind showing your texture flats and also sharing abit more about your rendering technique?

i'd like to second that. a look into your workflow would be really awesome.

Somehow I get the feeling the feet didn't get the same level of attention as the... 'upper portions'
RobG: Pure Awesome

Even the pose has a striking similarity.
