sweet joakim. looking good man. can't want to see it fully speculared out. I almost feel like there could be a little more depth to the normal map though you know?
Yeah, it'll be my tribute to Jump 'n Bump. Starting off with something simple to get back into programming and get used to deving for the DS. It won't be a total clone, though.
Since I haven't pimped anything in a while, here's a fictional (so I don't have to care about real performance) MBT for Spring, 412 tris:
I want to test out if you can make the weapon and damage behaviour in Spring very close to reality while using its ability to handle large armies to let actual unit strengths come through (rather than letting infantry survive a tank hit, having cannons fire only 200m far or other videogame-standard nonsense like that).
I was thinking of redefining the Fantasy races, with a new (place in) civilisation, based on their attributes, in a Victorian-esque world. For example, Elves would form the bourgeoisie, because they're intellectual and know magics, Orcs would be the soldier types, and so on.
The Grenadiers of the 18th century (when they still threw grenades) were picked for being tall, strong and brave enough to wait before throwing the grenade. An ideal job for Ogres!
Not sure about the armour. Looks a bit misplaced on a grenadier, but typical grenadier garment is classy and very un-Ogrish.

Hey Johhny what is your lighting set up? how do you get that awsome sort of bloom from the back light? is it in some engine?

Probably omni lights and a photoshop "glow" filter, he once told me about it but my attempts to use it never worked out that good.
We're so predictable all of us though, here's yet another head.. :P
Diffuse only so far
Chris: you know it turns you on!
Don't like it much, but after staring at it all day I don't think it's really bad for my level of experience. CS2+mouse.
I'll get him singing kareoke soon.
edit: thats full illumination btw, maybe the lack of shading is looking odd
THIS PARTY'S GETTIN CRAZY!
Looks top notch other than that, though.

The lack of brow motion is somewhat distracting. Nice work so far, though.
Soon comes the -gore-. Hoping to implement levels and the collision for them tomorrow.

(texture will be scaled down to 256)
looking forward to some crits&comments
sinister could you make a thread teaching us DS wannabes how to code a 2d game?
awesome work everybuddy
You'll want to learn how to program with C/C++ first.
First play with mudbox, from a sphere. Messy. Pior showed me the basics and a few tricks previously.
