@Hito Damn, that animation is great! Also, thanks for the tip. I'm going to clean that animation up some more after I get a good way through the animation I am doing for a contest.
@HitoThat's a really fun piece. Maybe try dropping the camera a bit lower and tilted up a bit. Also, a few head turns might help show a bit more intention, is the beast chasing her, or are they racing? does he notice she ducks out of the way or even care? When she cuts away, it might be a fun moment to see him dip his shoulders a bit and increase speed now that the path's clear. All and all, fun stuff, looking forward to seeing the updates.
Svalinn That looks sick man! maybe its a bit too much in the overlap , its looks a bit blobby. Rmunday Awesome man ! at the end the angry momment I think that you could also bring his wings up , it looks strange that the wings are like sleeping while he is all "I'm going to burn all this village". Hito Thanks man, glad you like it! I did the trampoline and cannon ball scenes , excluding the space scene and the "burning from atmosphere to north pole" scene. The final result of your animation is so good! I imagine it with a soundtrack in my head hahaha I loved how you slow motion the jump! it looks so badass thatanimator That feels soo smooth ! good work! that blendtree looks so complicated T-T I need to learn it Blond Thank you!!! it really means a lot man ! thank you very much _adamturnbull awesome piece I want to see it speed it up already EVernier Nice action shot! I think that it will help if you rotate his hips and torso, because right now it moves forward a little bit robotic. For the acting shot his ---> shoulder moves a lot in the beginning and his <---- elbow makes a big pop before the "Sausage" and I think his mouth is way too exaggerated when he says "MEAT". Those are the more noticeable points that came to mind good job overall!! LloydHallam Nice start! right now some key to key feels very slow and it feels like the computer did the calculations itself. Get more reference and watch the timing also , the fall should be way more fast
I did this tiny exploration of a character I want to make an attack and dead animation to start applying to game studios at the end of February !!
@Arturow thanks man, Yeh my pc got corrupt and lost a good 2 days work on this so going back to add these improvements. Think you could share your lightning set up its lovely. I know the animation is always front and center but that looks looks so professional!
@Rmunday Sure man! , is just a simple setup actually. The intensity of the lights can vary on the scale of the model but this is pretty much what I use always for showing cycles and stuff like that. Hope it helps http://imgur.com/zYRPYpU
those loop fights look fun! crazy that one guy started this whole animation..phenomenon?
I'm working a bit on a intro cutscene for my little navigation demo thingy.. standing up from the chair right there, then going into a bunch of walkcykles, because I'm a lazy fkr like that was thinking of having her push open a large door, or just have her walk out into white (got snow pouring in from the doorway) Idunnolol
''crazy that one guy started this whole animation..phenomenon?''
correct me if Im wrong but that was stephen vyas right?
He is the master of looping fights and the inspiration for the 'weekly' challenge that I did the animation for. His blog has some great stuff on it http://animatorsteve.weebly.com/
would love to hear what you guys have to say about this.. my wife doesn't like the way her upper body moves in the walk, too much rotation she says. I'm going for more of a barbarian-ish walk than a sexy girl walk, feet a bit wider apart and such - not that you can see it in the intro (you can't see too much after the compression, but ok..let's pretend we can see something!)
the idea of this anim is for it to be an intro to the rest of my demo, which will go something like this (very old wip):
Heya, here's a video I animated for STRAFE®. I did the characters, while the camera and effects were done in Unity by others. It's the first longer animation I did outside of short, looping anims for games. I'm happy with how it turned out, even when I see there's stuff that could be improved (it always is )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLjZjxRVJHM @Thatanimator: I agree the torso rotates too much, the shoulders stick out the most. Something I've also noticed with your walk/run cycles is how the torso is stiff in the forward-backwards axis. While walking, at the down-extreme, the torso rotates towards the back, so it's more upright. When at the up-extreme, the torso is leaned more forward. Other than that I like your anims.
@heboltz3@SonnyThanks! It's great to get such positive feedback on my first animatic.
@Sonny I like the fluid motion of the character. Maybe hold the pose a bit more before he pulls the toy and with arms stretched as if he's pulling hard, to give some anticipation.
A 3rd pass on this piece. The left front foot still slides and for the life of me cannot seem to sort it! The keys show nothing, I have tried snapping it to a locator and it still slides. Also my Mental Ray crashes when I try to render so have used Maya Hardware...so much aliasing D=
@Rmunday : looking way better!! at the roar his left front leg makes a noticable pop and the final tail movement looks strange too maybe adding a little more overlap into the sections will help @Svalinn : Left you some notes , hope they help
@Blond : Nice study! :O I want to start doing those type of studies but in pencil #oneday hahah ._.
@Aesir: that looks so good man! it kind of remind me to stop motion type of characters. love it and props for finishing the piece
@Icarox: Nice! it looks cartoony! love the hanging S&S!
Here is a Music video that just got released in wich i worked as an Animator , Rigger and some technical stuff . Hope you enjoy it ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXU4J_cOx1Y
@Icarox, nice start but some of the motions are too floaty, have inadeuqate posing and off timing. Watch out at the beginning, during his anticipation, he goes off balance. When he goes grabbing the ledge, theeres point where his arms look broken. Too much stretch on the arm (he looks rubbery) when hangs on. The rest works pretty well. I'd suggest you working on that run too (the pose lacks dynamism).
@Aesir nice short though, youre righ, it could use some nice polish and refining on some parts.
@_adamturnbull nicely done man, good distance on that jump. Would like to see the arms pumping a bit more during that run. Also, some bike pedaling in the legs during the jump could at a bit more chaos in there (1:22 mark) ( https://youtu.be/FXttqg0RWU8?t=82 )
@Blond I liked the most the one at around second 17. The movement to grab the cup is awesome! and you definitely need to finish that dog shot , its looks so appealing!!! Maybe some parts are super fast like before the smart guy line.
Great start, Arturo! I think you can really push that timing on that attack, if it's for gaming. You can basically take out half the frames on each attack, from the moment he starts to swing, to the moment he lands the attack, keeping the wind up and the follow through the same speed as it is now. Push it further than you`re comfortable with, and you`ll notice a huge difference.
@PascalVasile Wow I love it! what software did you create the parts and the rigging/anim in? I'd love to learn that kind of animation, got any tips or anything?

Thanks. The characters are made in Photoshop, then imported in ''2d spine'',its very simple ,and for me, the best soft for 2d game animation. You can play with meshes, weight, change the skins ,very useful.

with "wonder man" style.

I referenced a clip from Despicable me 2 for an assignment.
Of course, it's not finished, I don't have much time to work on it

I really like the parkour idea, and especially seeing the progress shots side-by-side at the end. Thanks for sharing!

awesome .. but i thinks it's looks like someone pull him back after hit the Mountain.
Dragon
I'm gonna transfer what I have to a different rig with only two legs as I'm not a fan of quad dragons.
Good luck.
So, I'll just post it here.

Quite happy with the beginning, but the transition to idle escapes me.

Don't think I have the maya file for this anymore, which is a shame. This was the best run cycle I've been able to make, ever.
@KielFiggins Thanks Kiel, great reference. I'll play around with it and see how it feels!
