I'ev finally gotten around to digitising some of my dusty relics and I'm looking at reviving this piece of airbrushed shizzle from 'back in the day' when the artwork on the box was far better than the art in-game, lol.
It's a big, practically impossible (but still fun) two-wheeler called an Intercycle.
Started drawing , again. I'm pretty solid on 3D , just not 2D. Would be nice if i could get better at it. This time i'm focusing more on fun than trying to force random exercises into my brain though so we'll see.
Mechanic with in an Elysium/Aliens inspired Exo-Skeleton. A character design I want to translate to 3D one I get a bit more practice at modelling people.
Been working on some hand studies, trying to capture the shape, pose and a quick basic indication of shadow! Need to work on my hand anatomy as I feel it's rather poor and need to improve.
Working in my moleskin. As a side note, really loving the work you guys are posting up!
This one started as a speedpaint and I just stuck with painting along on the architecture and made it something more than a speedy. I also really wanted to paint something green.
Hey Eric,
Thats a big thing you're painting there. A few things that jump to me:
* I like the stylized faces and the armor of the front guy! Looks cool!
* The sky is yet very unused! Use clouds and skyholes for composition and to strengthen the story! Its always easy to add a thunderstorm atop the baddies. At the moment its really just horizontal lines, a sky can be much more than that!
* why is that king looking into the sky but seems to look at the viewer? That looks forced and kinda weird. Nothing else of his pose tells me why he's looking up.
* The foreground perspective seems off. The upper bodies of the characters speak another perspective language than their legs.
* The foreground blends into the midground perfectly. I'd put the ground in shadow and tune down the values a lot so you get it pop off from the midground. The top of the characters could still be in light.
* I have no idea whats going on on the battlefield. Seems like there is only redbanners. Who are they fighting?
Its a nice painting but that hand position would never be possible unless her hand was attached backwards. Even if she could spin her hand around the thumb would always be behind her when the palm was facing her body.
Edit, actually that wouldn't be possible even if it was on backwards. She essentially has two left hands.
acapulco, thanks for the thoughtful critique. All very good points. As to the battlefield, the idea is that battle has finished... though I neglected to place dead blue banners/bodies on the field. Any other thoughts on showing that more successfully? Maybe some blood on the sword or something...
The look on the king dude's face is a little tricky... he's essentially supposed to be looking down at you like he's a somebody and you're not. What makes it tricky is that he's essentially a smart object that I'll need to cross into other assets. Hmmm, perhaps the idea of him looking down at you made more sense in compositions where he was above the horizon line. Hmmm. Not sure. Still I definitely need to address the legs, foreground, & sky. Thanks again for your thoughts!

It's rendered beautifully, the only issue I'm having with the pose. Is that the legs should be reversed. Since you have the left arm forward, the left leg should be placed back. Either way it's awesome! Great work!
Hey Dado,
What did you do that for and what failed or why did the artwork fail? What was the request?
I really like your rendering and the orcs and humans faces, but theres some other wonky things. For example the head. Its dead in the middle, but should be more to the right inside the armor. If he looks so much to the right he should nearly toucht the armor with his face. You have it dead center, so the head isn't really on the shoulders anymore. That makes the whole upperbody look off.
He's also not really looking at the orc.
For light, you could've dramaticed the light even more. Get some light on the orc weapon on the bottom to make it pop a bit more. And I think, you should've added a bit more room to the artwork. Looks like its only a part of a grander artwork.
quick feedback: eye looks bloodshot (eyes don't have so much SSS) & I would change the crotch patch to something of the same shade as legs but different hue, honest impression was probably not what you intend. :poly136:
The metals are all good, kind of looks like a ring flash.
That's the second comment i got on the crotch colour, so i guess i had better do something about that.
Usually i have trouble with the subtlties of face colour because of colourblindness, maybe if i get big i can start to hire a QA guy just for my colours >_>. I'll try and keep that note in mind.
I'm glad the ring flash came through, that's exactly what i was shooting for!
I just finish taking Robotpencil's environment mentorship with Kalen and here is one of the project that I worked on. I am going to continue this project by building it in 3D, in hopes of getting into the Hearthstone team. *fingers crossed*

Casual is a project management tool that lets you organize tasks & ideas the way they look in your mind. You plan and execute your activities as visual workflows. This way of planning is like drawing a flowchart. It's a new, shockingly easy approach to managing tasks, projects and ideas.
I would like for you to give Casual a shot and give us some valuable feedback after doing so. We have a 14-day trial period during which you can try out all of our features for free!
Also, our project is absolutely free for educational institutions and students. You can use Casual to streamline the educational process, as well as organize projects at your institution and in the community.
Looking forward to hearing your feedback.
Drop me a line at nick(at)casual.pm. Id be more than happy to answer any of your questions.

Thanks!
Costume can be described as something a techno gladiator would wear. Character carries a mace that discharges electricity.
Moves super fast that the light around her distorts and warps.

Which options you like best?
Still chipping away at this:

Nice study though.
Almost finished this.

Easy to fix at least

Fixed that embarrasing hand.
