I've never received any form of art education before, so some constructive criticism would be nice
I'm also very new to drawing humans, so I was mostly looking at the mirror and guessing at the rest.
I sketched this ninja turtle at work while I was baking some maps, then I decided to paint it out during the polycount chat tonight. Here's the process from star to finish.
A fantastic selection of images in here. Great to see the variety and hard work everyone is putting in.
This is an image from a personal project i'm working on centered around the sci-fi novel Stand on Zanzibar by John Brunner. This is one of my most recent pieces which shows the Shalmaneser. General Technics is one of the biggest technology corporations in the book. They own the worlds smallest super-computer known as 'Shalmaneser'. Its a liquid hydrogen cooled hyper intelligent computer. Its housed in a vault which is covered in cables, computer screens, keyboards and shelving.
I've also recently finished designing the vault which houses the Shalmaneser. This is my final design for the vault. It's described in the book as being shaped like a sliced boiled egg!
Looking forward to showing the next stages of design with you all.
Haven't posted stuff on here in a while but i've been swamped with various projects and NDA's. Here is stuff from a project ive been working on that was "thrown out" so I got to keep it for myself.
Hofsta, this is awesome!
If I had one crit, it would be that the value range in your gold is a little low, there's not really any darks in it to bring out any contrast. on the side in the light it looks fine, but the shadowed side doesn't look shadowed so much as a bit flat.
The rest of the piece owns, though, so I'm just nitpicking. Great stuff, man.
Well as usual there are tons of great stuff here. Rayph's "thrown out" stuff... Then how does the stuff they used look like? those look awesome! Anyways, I started a speedpaint a while back and somehow got lost in it. By the way I googled some random images and used one as a reference. Mainly for colors and lighting since I really struggle with that. Comments and critique is more than welcome.

Nice work, reallly, if I could say something well I think the overall painting lack of global lighting and bounce light somehow. White cloth should bright a bit their surrounding, like on the chair. What do you think ?
A piece I've working on for a bit now, would love some feedback, trying to get back in the habit of posting my work and not being such a hermit about it.
Some really great pieces here!
Since i just got permission to show these and already posted about them in my digital sketchbook thread, i might as well post 'em here.
These are a small excerpt of a much larger body of work that i was able to contribute in the past few months to the multi-plattform (but mostly mobile) title "Dragon City" by spanish developer Socialpoint. The process changed a couple of times but the process-image gives a good idea what it sort of was for most of the time. I did multiple of these little buggers per week and had a lot of fun with them. Enjoy (or not, who knows).
Wow! There is so much amazing art on here that I'm intimidated to even show mine. Well, here are two sample screens from a game I've been working on for a while now. Each screen the player sees is laid out like a comic book. The background(borders) are something that we are testing to see what looks best as a backdrop.
Gnarf: These characters are adorable! Very solid design, I love your shading skills.
Dado: All of your work is amazing, But I was so happy to see that Classic Optimus picture, super on point! Keep up the awesome stuff!
Agaki: I kind of feel like It depends on the coloration and texture based on the rest of the piece...But I honestly really love it without the horns, maybe just have the nubs look like the shoulder attachments?
sucidePanda: the textured backgrounds are looking really great, perhaps add more variation to the the objects textures to pull them away from the walls more? Also, add some dimension to that drawer on the dresser, its just a flat square right now, i feel it should be a cube since the dresser itself is in perspective keep up the great work! and post your progress, id love to see more

Rayph, wow! I'm not at the point to judge, but I really like the execution!
Also did this fan logo ~4 month ago, but uploaded just now. One of my favorite games, but I suck at it, tbh.
That character is coming along nicely Hofsta! Maybe the blur/sandstorm on the bottom half could be toned down a little bit though?
I've been watching some Wind Waker playthroughs while painting lately, felt inspired to do a few Zeldalike characters. ^^;
Some really great pieces here!

More updates will be in my sketchbook. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2222695#post2222695
Beautiful face anatomy and materials, perhaps a bit more of hue shift to give vibrations ?
Also, my iterations to the self-portrait exercises start to gives result, I like the way that lighting evolve through time, and you have to be quick
, instantly recognizable
WIP character from this afternoon
a piece I've been working on this week, inspired by d3 monk armor
This is just something I was working on a few months back, but I finally got around to finishing it recently.
