Hey, I've been working on a cyberpunk bust, figuring out fibermesh, its pretty awesome. Though I'm not quite sure if I can use it to bake yet Ill try some stuff though, FOR SCIENCE . Anyway crits are more then welcome as always.
The team and I's (Simon Boxer-concept art, Anwar Bey-Taylor-model/texture, Chay Johansson-Rigs/animation) new Dota2 work is a submission for the upcoming New Bloom Festival for Chinese New Year!!
He is a wonderful good fortune fish that is full of life and ready for action! In the game Fu Yu assists as a courier that delivers to the player, items from the shops to help make the hero Bigger, Badder, Faster, Stronger, GREATER!! We had a blast creating this little guy, and hope the world enjoys our creation. KAPOWW!
You can find more info on him below in the workshop, also it is at the workshop that you can help build his greatness by voting for him to be integrated into the game.
Low-Poly Character I started around Christmas, been working on him occasionally. Donโt do many 3d characters these days. Lots to do before this guy is finished!
I've been improving the textures on this piece I did a while back. It's only partially improved, and I gotta do another pass on the lighting since the original lighting was made for a different post-process.
For shape shifting mandalas?
Honestly I'm not sure what is going on but it looks very interesting, does it work with vertex offset? Would like to tinker with it if you care to share it.
It should. This is just a 2d effect happening in texture space, so its after the vertex offset. You could possibly generalize the math to be 3d. No idea what it would look like though.
It's this. Basically its what happens if you project the coordinate plane onto a sphere, then rotate the sphere upside down, then project it back onto a plane. So points at infinity go to zero, and points at 0 go to infinity. Straight lines map to circles, but interestingly, circles stay circles, just different radii. Becomes (if you clamp the y repeat of the image)
And yes it can be really trippy if you animate the coordinate output (this is just panning the transformed coordinates and mapping a hex texture)
Nice render setup Tor! Especially I like how the light work in the shadowed area.
Here is an update on my exercise - im bit closer to finish it, need to focus now on some decals, proper scene lightening - its tempting now to switch to UE4 but the amount of shader work that need to be done is a bit discouraging. Toolbag allows me to skip that part and it makes me so lazy at this point
Sofware used:
- Zbrush for concept, sculpt, UVs and base polypaint
- Quixel for texturing
- Keyshot for shaders and rendering
- Photoshop for composition
Marco Splash : Your work is insane, i love the collection. Can't wait to see the other.
I call this one finish. I planed to get him a weapon and a pet, but i want to move one. As usual, i learn a lot with this. Topology breakdown on my Artstation.

Working on a Dark Forces inspired 3rd Person Shooter in Unity. Just got cheap-ass-mobile-friendly reflections working, with blurry reflection Occluders as well! This is 8 draw calls for the whole scene, because I'm shooting for super quick mobile rendering. Also, I really like the Unity Lightmapper... It's really quick and yields really neat results with a very minor time input.
Daayyuuummm, some really beautiful stuff as always guys! I'm loving it
Hey dudes,
I'm giving away a bunch of stuff on my gum roads page for anyone who is interested. I've been working on compiling all of this together for everybody and will come out with some more free goodies here and there down the road. Hehe gum... road *moving on*
Anyways, I hope some of you can get some use out of the stuff on the page. Enjoy!

Blockout. Ill be focusing more on modularity and lighting in this rather than the materials.

I am going to pose him up with his axe soon.
Also @DarkImage Loving your sacrificial stone and fish sculpt, keep it up! How did you go about doing the blood droplets? zspheres / dynamesh?

Love it, creepy and unique; Beautiful work!
zep: Amazing material definition!
Here's what I've been spending my time on lately, together with the other awesome people in the studio. It's all in-game shots rendered in Unity.
