How are any of the other comapnies any different. We are on the 15th Call of Duty, the like 17th Assassin's Creed, the 7th Halo, the 7th Far Cry, the 6th Uncharted. I could go on, but you see the point ( I am including hand held games). I don't understand how it's any different.
but i still get pumped by the upcoming Far Cry, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty and Uncharted, none of the Nintendo games on the other hand turn me on unfortunately.
Could this be the best E3 yet, very clean show not too many blunders, Sony places games at the forefront rather than banging on about console features/shops/TV-shows and so on.
Looking forward to TGS, having the feeling there is some stuff to see we weren't shown on E3, especially from the japanese studios...kinda feeling like we gonna see The Last Guardian there.
It's simple really, for all gamers hark about it, they don't want new, innovate, creative titles. What we all really gravitate towards are sequels, sequels, sequels. The sales numbers prove this, instead of typing out sales numbers you can check out the video or not.
Just wanted to say BRAVO, thank you! Exactly correct. What gamers say they want and what they actually buy are often very different things.
"We want innovation and fresh gameplay experiences!"
**Master Chief Bundle - $60!**
"OMFG!!!111!! TAKE MY MONEY!!!"
The reason so many sequels get made is because that's what people buy. It's simple economics.

So basically it has nothing to do with how many Zelda games have been made. You just don't want to play them anymore. What is the last Zelda game you did play?
I don't think this is strictly true. I think it's more a case of a vocal minority versus the content massses.
True, to a point. But many of those who cheer the sequels are on the forums and that's the same vocal minority group calling out for the innovation and genre defining games...
I'm super pumped for Alien Isolation, congrats to you guys working on it, it looks fantastic! Great lighting and materials, and some of the fire FX looked incredible. Watching the gameplay I was thinking, "Damn this would be killer for VR..." and then bam! You guys announced Rift support. Wish granted
As a developer, I want Nintendo to turn it around in a HUGE way.
$230million lost this quarter.. and not a single developer was laid off
Facing abysmal sales, and their worst sales performance in decades, and not a single first party developer was laid off.
Despite facing abysmal sales numbers for Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze (especially given such a critically acclaimed game), Not a single dev has been reported to be laid off at Retro.
Consolidated their European Distribution/Marketing/PR offices which resulted in layoffs, but their devs are treated like gold.

Absolutely. Especially considering all of the quality stuff that was announced yesterday I will be picking up a Wii U soon.
$230million lost this quarter.. and not a single developer was laid off
The main reason Nintendo can do this is because the have about 10.5 billion dollars in the bank for years like this. They've got good business practices, I support them all the way. Nintendo is like the tortoise and the rest of the major publishers are the hare.

I did not know about that, and that's pretty freaking awesome.
They better be proud of their particle systems because those are definitely some of the best I've seen in a game!
So many incredible looking games coming out, my wallet will surely take a beating.
On an unrelated note, I'm curious to see what will be shown off at the TGS. I'd imagine we'll see some Persona 5 action since it supposedly releases in a few months in Japan!

wait, they actually LOST $250mil? or just made $250mil less than last year?
I gotta say, after watching what was revealed yesterday, as well as the different stuff shown on the Treehouse stream today, I think Nintendo is in a really good spot. They have a ton of quality stuff coming out, and a little bit for everybody, regardless of your gaming tastes.
And like what was said above, you can't help but root for them. They take chances that other companies don't, sometimes they fail, sometimes they don't. But you have to commend them for that and the way they treat their employees.
Also, I can't wait to get my hands on Mario Maker, I can see that being an absolute blast with my friends and torturing each other with ridiculous levels.

Yeah, gotta a lot of love for Nintendo for how they treat their staff. Iwata:
"I also know that some employers publicize their restructuring plan to improve their financial performance by letting a number of their employees go," Iwata explained, "but at Nintendo, employees make valuable contributions in their respective fields, so I believe that laying off a group of employees will not help to strengthen Nintendo's business in the long run."
It's almost like the devs who make such awesome games aren't to blame for poor messaging and management decisions. Meanwhile Iwata cuts his own pay.
But anyway, yeah, I have a Wii U and a 3DS and Nintendo's showing continued to make me happy with those purchases. SO. EXCITED. For Captain Toad. *explodes in excitement*
At this point Iwata shouldn't get paid until they fix their brand. Yes they brought it big this year no discussion there. They brought a lot of stuff that would make me not care that it's not up to speed with the other systems but man throughout the 16 month the thing is out they brought 4-5 first party games worth your time and now announce the big guns for a time frame when the thing is 2 years in it's cycle.
They got great dev teams, i just feel like they dropped the ball again on the supply with first party titles, what you buy Nintendo for.
But honestly i would actually consider a Wii U now...
PS4 and Xboner are hacked down PCs with cheap AMD graphics cards with GDDR5 8GB to top it off.
All Nintendo have to do for E3 2015 is make a console with a Geforce graphics card, Duel-chip custom processor setup and at least 16GB memory. Then we can have all the real next gen graphics right now and not have to fake SSS, cool lighting effects, no more baking, real shadows with soft to sharp fall off and so on.
I am no expert but I could make one in my garden shed for £150
it is super weird, it's not on the list. not on this one and not on the "all games from e3" list. but it is in some of their 45 awesome games of e3 video and twice nominated for best game. It's as if they don't talk to each other about their nominations :O
however my vote goes to no mans sky, i wanna see more, especially some actual gameplay.
Picking a single game to vote for is going to be hard. This year's E3 was the best in a long time, in my opinion. Everybody who got to see their project get shown off should be proud of their work!
My personal favorites in no particular order were: Ori, Inside, Valiant Hearts, Abzu, The Evil Within, Yoshi, Captain Toad, Zelda U, Mirror's Edge 2, and No Man's Sky.
I'll probably vote for Valiant Hearts though, seems like it'll make me cry myself to sleep, although I don't need a game to help me do that anyway.
