@ ErikNilsson - Thanks mate
@ Crazy-Pixel - Thank you very much! I enjoy doing these @ArtViktor - Hey, I like the design and the color-scheme you chose! I think you're suffering from making your forms too round and bubbly, like his deltoids and upper arms for example. If you want to create more appealing stylized designs you need to consider employing Straight vs Curve, Tapering, Size-Variation and Rythm to your shapes. I also feel the cloth is sloppy, you can do better, right? Right now it's just flat, like a texture slapped onto a plane. In addition, consider not making your rimlight a thin line like that, it makes the form sharp, like a knife. Instead, you want to make it bleed into the form a bit more softly in general. Look at how Moby Francke or J.C Leyendecker does it. Keep it up brother!
@ Jamesy - Sweet! Cool design, neat technique. I like the world-terrain thing!
@ Dado - Niiiiiiccceee!
@ Muzz - Thanks a bunch, man! Looks like you're practicing, sweet! Can't wait to see your evolution!
@ Isaiah - Coooool!
Here's a study I did from a really good movie! The Apartment, from 1960, by Billy Wilder starring Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine.
Thanks, Kaktuzlime, for the great feedback on my Blue Djinn-piece!
Here's something I started with last night. Inspired by the great Luke Mancini. A piecec of stronk night elf autum/fire warrior/druid. I wanted to make her both femenine and muscular, trying to break the normal Blizzard norm with thin-and-hot-as-hell female nightelves. All and every piece of feedback is very much appriciated!
Man Johannes, you kick butt. Love your style so much.
I'm gearing up for anotehr comic con SLC, so doing some more TF2 portraits. I'm considering completely redoing the old ones too, because they kind of stink.
kaktuzlime I'm starting to be a huge fan of your studies, and I was a BIG fan of your previous work, so imagine now...
Makkon Can you believe I've been obsessed with the rendering of this TF2 drawing since I saw it in tumblr this morning? It0s awesome how you keep almost flat surfaces and at the same time you achieve so much volume. Would love to now this technique.
So Im struggling again with the way I render (I'm never pleased with how my color blends) and the amount of detail/refinement I do. This fanart was supposed to be relaxing and I guess is being useful for overcome this frustration. Feedback is very welcome, guys!
Sure, man. I've been doing it like David Platts method lately. Keep in mind, this is only ONE way of doing it, and also keep in mind that it's easy for this to become a crutch rather than a tool. This process is meant to keep things separate and help to rapidly speed up your production (and make changes very easily), it is NOT meant to be an end product for an illustration. I typically throw the base together really fast with this method, which establishes my lighting and colors, and then I do a lot of paintovers from there to finish.
obviously this process will not amount to anything if you can't render a matte form, as the most integral part of this whole process is the multiplied lighting layer.

The trouble is, and I've caught myself doing this, doing this process can make your paintings become formulaic. That is very problematic as a concept artist and an illustrator. I'm currently experimenting with trying to recreate lighting like Mike Azevedo using this method, such as this:
You guys are awesome! I am new here and I am trying to learn some photo editing software, I am into Lightroom now, and I just thought of checking out your works, and I am just envious!
@Makkon - BRO-LOVE!!! @Dado - Cool design! @Aesir - Sweet! That's got potential! @MarioManzanares - Duuude, thanks man! I appreciate it I feel your rendering is a bit too mono-chromatic, I think you should think about bounce-light, local temperature-variations and the ambient color of the scene. I also suggest you try experimenting a bit with edge-hardness depending on the material you're rendering. The feathers for example could be pretty soft, you could smudge them around a bit.

@Isaiah
Looks fantastic dude. My only crit is I'd move away from the deep greens, as the saying goes - green covers dont sell. I'd make it a bit warmer, it's in a bit of an odd spot between warm and cool atm (while the beam is very cool blue).
Here's a set of client work pieces I did a while back. This is the inside and outside cover for an album
The client actually asked me to post it online to specifically get some feedback/critiques - so please go nuts! Any pointers, advice, etc is all welcome!
@Makkon, that's a neat tutorial, you should just take from it what you can and incorporate into yourself. No need to constantly use the formula, but the technique still helps whenever it needs to.

This image is seriously disturbing :poly115:, only because of the pubic hair hanging down to knee length and then you find a puddle of blood on the floor which looks like she is on her period which she doesn't care .

I am glad to visit on this link about the Toronto mobile app development...Your information is very impressive and attractive... This is a no-brainer for me, I'm joining in with a little cross-post from the sketch thread, a portrait of my 4-year old son :)Thanks for sharing this information...

Slightly tweaked the first shot.
Did a 2nd shot of a closer, inside view to show off what I'd expect the gameplay space to potentially be like.
I was talked into doing a more rendered painting of the STIRFAX drawing that I did earlier.
