Worked on this off and on for about 5h total in two days.) Very Pleased with how this turned out. Used the art style of Ghost in the shell as a big influence on my art and a reference as well for the pose, I know how to use my line point size. (I now stick with size 1 for detailing for line art, comes out the cleanest). Feedback is always welcome, thanks guys~
Will work on some other characters then go on to painting.
WOW, what amazing artwork by everyone... Still learning all this, i have difficulty at the moment with detail in far away buildings, whats too much and what is too little! Anyways an image of my latest WIP... might be a bit to sharp?
@Wright, You seem to have some problems with anatomy (arm lenghts differ, he's kinda floating and doesn't have weight etc) could I persuade you into buying "Figure drawing for all it's worth" by Andrew Loomis? It's a great book and helped many people in the industry for a lot of years. And it's still golden. You should really check it out sometime.

Hey folks.
As a personal project, I've been taking my dumb obsessiveness about Dynasty Warriors to another level, doing 2-hour speedpaints of some of the characters as sci-fi versions of their designs. Here are the first ones I did.
Hey all, how do I scifi? Daily practice turned into bidaily because I'm a lazy bum. Comments/crits/feedback very much welcome! Scifi, robots and vehicles are the opposite of my comfort zone.
Highelf - hey man, really just look at airplanes, jets, modern design. dig down into all that good stuff! For example, this might give you some inspiration:
@Madiza, really liking the feel and composition, nice!
@Daemoria, great style, how long do they take? They seem to have great amounts of detail.
Here's another speedie paint, probably gunna do a series.
Less good than the one before but ehh, testing stuff out.
*snip*
I think I can put about 4 or 5 hours into these drawings before they reach what I consider complete.
That's not counting any block-mesh work I do though, that's a whole another bit of work which can sometimes take a couple hours. Thanks!
Really nice anatomy, Highelf! The lighting is working very well. I'm not a fan of the hair but that's purely personal preference, I think it works in terms of design.
Here are some head concepts I did. I wanted to go for "bulbous and fun to headshot"
My shot at the D&D art test (character part)
This is the "orc cook". It's conceptartsy, so not rendered to the bone, but besides that I gave this a good shot - any feedback is VERY welcome! My hope is to finally land some work with Wizards
Dado: Oh man, I'm horrible when receiving compliments haha. Thanks man! It certainly has been a weird journey with twists and turns. I've had help with many friends that gave me great advice. Loving how your webseries is coming along. I always anticipate a new page on my tumblr feed
Dayyyym Allan, Those two are awesome! First dude has a really nice shape language with the torso and helmet and the second dude is just cozy all over! Nice balanced characters dude!
