I made an xgen hair tutorial for game art. Turns out you can get alpha cards out of it and into an engine. Its pretty fast and easy to get a rather nice base.
I've spent this past couple of months learning Mari and texturing the Bulldozer project I started awhile back. He's rendered in Vray, textured in Mari and I'll be compositing him onto live action footage.
I've started drawing up some stuff for the next project after the bulldozer and this is one of the pieces. I want to do a little martian nasa scene and try to further understand the PBR workflow and UE4. It'll be a scout tower with a little garage for vehicles and this is one of the vehicles. I had a ton of fun drawing this guy up. Once the bulldozer project is all wrapped up I'll be blocking out the environment.
Re-made this Mass Effect gun. I managed to get the bake done without painting any errors out this time around and completely re-painted it with Substance Painter (Which is amazing software by the way).
@Wester: Did I see that over on Lunchcrunch? Either way nice work ... I'd like to see that little space buggy!
Thanks Scott! Yeah, I think the heightmap I made for it was pretty poopy. I wanted to give it some contrast for the marmoset render, but it looks like it just gnarled up the grass clumps They're much cleaner in the actual albedo. FYI: I hate fibermesh :P
Well, here is the abandoned mesh from the motion comic that I was going to finish for the comic but I sadly ran out of time and we ended up having to do it in Flash. Anyway, this is some of the deleted content and something that hit the cutting room floor from the motion comic project but I AM going to finish this, for the sake of my portfolio and reel, so don't despair!
Anyway, yeah, I know you're supposed to model a neutral expression on the mesh but I broke the rule because I don't use morph targets, I use the morpher modifier, which lets me make a copy of the mesh and model on the dummy, then place the dummy in one of the custom slots, so I can make a neutral face for him, anyway. I wanted to see how far I can push my limits and really make an amazing model and it is getting there, but I've only just started!
Anyway, what are your thoughts?
I modeled this in 3DS Max 2014 and spent roughly six days on it, total.

I just re-textured a Colt Python I made a short while ago. While I'm more happy with it now, I think I'm going to redo the handle.
You can see more pictures here.
Here's a little spoof I've written for this character, here goes:
Pig Latin
"Away eryvay eepday dnaway foundproay otequay"
Waking up behind a garbage bin one day Oinkster realizes that he has gotten himself into trouble and now he has a helmet with a brain and robotic arms permanently attached to his head. Due to Oinkster's dyslexia, he names his helmet 'Brian'. On the way to his lackluster space-janitor job, a well written story twist accurse which sends Oinkster and his trustworthy sidekick Brian to go on an adventure to save the galaxy. Only later the twist is revealed that Brian is no other than Maximus M. Maximilius (!) a former legendary rebel who was forced to hide himself by uploading his mind into the helmet, far away from the reaches of the oppressive totalitarian government that made their duty to capture and destr...yadda-yadda.
'Pig Latin' is my personal project, main focus was to learn how to pull off a 'concept' pipeline, which devotes time into enhancement of the design vs. spending time on optimizing geometry and unwrapping.

This might be the best presentation I have ever seen for a character. Absolutely amazing!

A car?
Here a few a few zbrush textures I made back in April. Forgot to post them here, please feel free to critique them.
These were all polypainted in ZBrush using Lightbox and a few photo textures. Actual texture assembly was done in the 2.5D canvas.
Here are are the flats:
