Decided to finish an old project today .Made this about 3 years ago .Just pulled it off my dusty thumb drive and finished the sculpt .No plans for this any more .
I've revisited my old school's project and added things that I couldn't before due to time restrains; Rendered in V-ray; Want to turn it into LP and put it into UE4, then most likely kill myself. Thank you very much.
Xpost from my thread - Working more on some material definition tonight, especially the skin. Want this finished by the end of the month if possible so I can get stuck into something new and put what I've learnt this time around into fresh practice. Feedback welcome!
It's nothing as awesome as what most of you are doing, but I've been working on the Pegassi Zentorno from GTA V. It's mostly done, and I would like to materialize, light, and set it up for a studio render with VRay, but I kinda don't know how to at the moment o.O
@TheVeryWhiteGuy hey that looks really good!! Vray has a car paint shader, you could start there. My own recomendation about vray, do not change any parameter until you're absolutely sure of what they do. You could make your render take way too much time
First time I have ever posted on Polycount, figure I should start. Here is a Bust I've been working on. This took me about 15 hours in total. Let me know what you guys think.
Hey guys, long time no post, i have been super busy with work so i have little time for side projects at the moment but today i took some time and updated my ongoing personal project.

Looks pretty great to me! Also, please don't kill yourself!
Phew there is some aaamazing work here; been scrolling through this thread from start to finish at work whilst files were loading/ things rendering, took me 3 weeks!
Loving the amount of stylized sculpting being posted. Keep up the top notch work.
Hey guys, did the first textures by hand to play with some photoshop brushes I got and a tutorial I made for DT. Then I used the same model to test out the new dDo features. Definetly going to play more with it.
@jon, to you and karl, this is looking so amazing in it's art style and mood, your artistic development from start to here has been so fun to watch. My favorite part, is the lighting. It interacts with the white-est pixels of the zombies in such a cool way as they walk past, it's just all top notch and i want to play
It's rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 2, which uses physically-based rendering, I believe. I'm not sure if that's similar or the same as image-based lighting, or not.
The material is basic: high gloss, low metalness, white albedo.
Looks awesome! any stuff from blueprint too? or all ue3 materials?
Thx, it is all in the UE3 material system, no other code, no matinee or anything. Even that fade on the cloud that looks like from a light is made with a distance ramp fade in the shader.
Wanted to do a next-gen bust of Rinoa Heartilly. Final Fantasy 8 was absolutely my favorite Final Fantasy so I think this was a good opportunity to put me to the test. Reaching that Final Fantasy 15 level will take tons and tons of characters, but..here's my start!

Go for it! I can't wait to see the finished result. Big fan of the PS1 Era Final Fantasy games.
Need to add variation and some more separation before flattening my layers and doing a final paint pass. Probably 30% to completion w/ colors. Not sold on the hair color yet, need to tone down those bright ass toe plates...

some progress on my anatomy study
Some feedback?
Effect looks great on its own, but the art style and animation have me intrigued too. Great work.

You might want to take an extra look at your refs, your model is really inaccurate.
Edit:// To mention a few places:
- The muzzle
- The handguard
- The fire selector
- The bolt
- Even the magazine

bunch of wip assets from "daphz quest"
More stuff in there
The background and character design was mainly done by my friend karl lagadec while i focus on animation, effects and other technical art things
I am also working on dynamically lighting the 2d sprites. Here's an attempt to a rim light effect. There's still some glitches i need to fix though.
Are you using image-based lighting in this piece?
That is the villain from Wild Wild West right?
