What the hell is wrong with the world today? Not looking forward to the political and media circus to soon follow. I wish the very best to the victims involved.
Yea...I was just about to say. I am dreading to see what dumb fucking shit the media is going to be spewing out the next couple of weeks. Or whoever is going to be using this for their political gains. Bummer. Whats wrong with people?

so far the worst part has been the comments, don't scroll down on any news links you come across
has there been any news on the reportedly other suspicious packages being reported around the US? or was that just a hoax with people overreacting? I only hope that this is not a precursor to something worse
... not to try to make this horrible news sound even worse, by the way, this is terrible, but I hope it stays at what it is, if you guys know what I mean
I can't wait for the bullshit stories coming from the news media and the "government" about how to handle this shit... I immediately thought of them once It happen.
I'm expecting to hear words about martial ..., almost guarantee It or hints there off.
Facebook page was up probably because facebook heard the news nevertheless odd.
Horrible news sad as hell all people wanted to do was cheer and try to be happy.
Condolences to anyone affected by this and or if you know of people, who know of a person injured or passed on, sorry for your injured or loss.
dude... think before you write or just don't do it at all.
what you think it was an accident, some gas pipe exploding? Three strategical placed bombs look more like a terrorist act to me. I think it would be ignorant to propose otherwise.
who exactly are the terrorists you wanna blow up ?
any particular criteria ?
nah just whoever did it. I dont want to start a whole conspiracy theory, I was just kinda angry(not saying that it has to be a terrorist act immanently, it sure looks like it tho)
I guess it was inappropriate to post, I apologize.

i wasn't talking about it beeing accidents or attacks or whatever, i was quoting your awful reaction to it.
BPD Chief: "No one in custody at this time." ..."those reports are not true"..."police at all hospitals"
also, an apt post from the Reddit thread, not sure if it is actually a Mister Rodgers quote or not:
When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping. To this day, especially in times of disaster, I remember my mothers words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers - so many caring people in this world. Mister Rogers
people are currently opening up their homes and business for people to stay
Wasn't there also a report mentioning that a cell phone was involved with them? Might explain the 3rd not going off (fortunately), but I don't know if anything was confirmed about it. Tuned to WBZ right now.
Yeah, i'm not gonna want to read the possibly psychopathic comment sections of any article (especially Slashdot's). This is depressing and I wish there were a kitten page somewhere (but not here).
Know a few people in this race, one 20 minutes away from the finish line. They are okay. A friend who works at the hospital says the ER looks like a war zone though : \
Its sooo fortunate that there were so many medical personal there on the spot. Anywere else and it wouldn't have gotten that quick of a response as it did.
A marathon...are you fucking serious, there was an explosion at a MARATHON! Not at WallStreet, Public speech, protest, not on ground of anything that might have triggered anyone...a marathon.
I can't be the only one thinking this, but it's quite distressful/disrespectful to be posting those NSFW images in the OP. For me, you should remove them.
If that was a family member/friend and I'm seeing images of that person posted over the internet with those sort of injuries....well, say no more.
I have a friend currently out there who was attending the marathon, luckily she's come to no harm. My thoughts are with those affected by this tragic event.

was sort of my reaction as well.
Taking your vendetta out against people who like to jog and run?
Just... so low, so pointless.

I have to disagree. It's a terrible thing to have happen to anyone and it's not a pretty sight to look at, but it's not like this is a picture of someone's car crash or mugging. Some events in their nature happen to be incredibly public and far-reaching, drawing attention from across the globe. Its unfortunate, but that's life sometimes (and lets be honest, having his picture shown on the news is not going to be the thing that will ruin his day/week/life). If it's a potentially historical moment for a state or country then it should be captured and not censored (there are a thousand fine photographic examples throughout history, and now that we all carry cameras this will only be more common). And its exactly the kind of moment that some people need to see so that they don't think 20-30 injuries refers to people with scrapes and bruises.
At most the post could perhaps put a description besides the link, and let adults make their own decisions whether or not they want to see the image instead of having someone else try and make that call for them.

It's to promote fear. To give the feeling of 'no matter where you are, you're not safe.'

I could not disagree with you more. The second we start censoring the news the second the news that's actually coming through, will be changed/altered/diluted. If you don't want to hear the news in an unaltered, censored light watch fox news. First of all they are links and he even gave a disclaimer saying they were NSFW.

If you are offended, don't click on the link.
I absolutely agree with this, the news these days is incredibly visual so to remove that as soon as it's a story of this nature makes me very uncomfortable.
This was a terrible event and I hope the casualty reports don't rise any further, and the cheap political point scoring already is only going to get worse I think

I'm getting most of my updates from @universalhub

ok, so you think a reaction of anger is not appropriate? Either way, I apologized for it and I don't want to drag this any further!
Again, sorry.

Wish we could fast forward 2 days because then this will be cleared up
Yeah, NY Post is basically the US version of The Sun
